First Answer: R4 is included as a poor man's Fire Control System, as opposed to Overclocked which will stress the Y.

Concept: Y-Wings focus as an action. Freelancer provides focus for the next shooter in line if previous shooter misses. Formation flying, obviously. And no R1 donut hole on the Blaster Turret.

I assume you picked R4 to synergise with blaster turret. Sadly, it does not anymore.
The focus you spend to shoot the gun, does not while you attack. It is a payment you pay before you get to attack with your turret.

Save some points, put Ions on the Y's and lock their turret. Since you plan on flying in formation you might as well do it.
