Find me a force

By Kilgore Troot, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Hello all

I have recently taken possession of a few x-wing ships. I've been looking at the rules and upgrades and am completely overwhelmed with the upgrades available. I have no idea what works where.

I therefore have a challenge for you. I will list the ships I have and I would like you to come up with 2 lists that I can play and have fun with. I don't want lots of crazy shenanigans with rerolling and cancelling dice, just some straightforward fun lists.

I have:

2 Y-wings

2 Kihraxz Fighters

4 Z-95s

1 YV-666 Hounds Tooth

as well as the starter pack and can access most of the upgrade cards.

I thought a few Z95s supported by the YV-666 versus the more powerful small ships might be fun. I have no idea how to set up the YV-666 to support.

Thanks in advance.

Terrible title to begin with

Okay, no-one biting. How about some suggestions for equipping the yv-666 for a support role?

The YV is too expensive to be a pure support ship TBH. It's an attack ship.

Bossk with Operations Specialist, Hotshot COpilot, Gunner, Engine Upgrade, Veteran Instincts is a decent support/attack hybrid though I guess.

Here is something sticking with your collection:

Bossk (35)
Crack Shot (1)
K4 Security Drood (3)
Outlaw Tech (2)
Greedo (1)
Engine Upgrade (4)

Cartel Marauder (20)

Cartel Marauder (20)

Black Sun Soldier (13)

Total: 99

It is an older build, but you will enjoy the free actions Bossk gets. If you want to use upgrades from outside the expansions you listed this one does contain a few more interactions:

Bossk (35)
Crack Shot (1)
Concussion Missiles (4)
K4 Security Drood (3)
Zuckuss (1)
Inspiring Recruit (1)
Feedback Array (2)
Guidance Chips (0)

Syndicate Thug (18)
Twin Laser Turret (6)
R4 Agromech (2)

Bossk target locks a ship that you want gone for sure using K4. He then takes the focus action and attacks using the missile, turning one blank into a hit, one random die into a crit and all eyes into hits. The attack gets pushed through via Zuckuss and Crack Shot and the crit converted to two hits. That will delete a whole bunch of ships! Following that you will do greens to be able to Zuckuss again while also getting target locks.

The Y-Wings then provide consistent pings and finish off whoever took Bossks big hit. They are your solid basis.

Cool, thanks for the input.

Seeing as how you probably aren't too familiar with the combos & interactions of upgrades, keep it simple to start. Admiral Deathrain's first list is a great one to get your feet wet with.

Remember to focus fire & try to keep your opponent's ships in front of Bossk (he has a tough time turning around).
