What kinda cameras do you guys use to take the pictures of your paint jobs with, I cant seem to get the ones i have to properly focus in on the ships, and all i get is blurry greatness.
Question to Painters who post
If I'm lazy just my phone, otherwise my 7d2.
Be careful of minimum focus distances in your camera (varies per lens).
Edited by DarthainDepends... Either my 500D or my iPhone
Usually my phone (fairly average Samsung A3) - or my old 400D if I've time.
Lighting is *Very* important - cameras on phones are generally quite poor under low light conditions. This doesn't mean dark by the way, anything less than outdoor sunlight can cause images to get grainy. As mentioned above, minimum focus can be a problem, but you can usually get quite close with a phone.
iPhone. Have extra lighting and a blank background (I use regular white paper) and for close-ups you can zoom in with your fingers for a macro function. Take multiple of one angle and discard the pictures you don't like.
The few pictures I've posted have been with my 70D and a 50mm lens. Are you using a camera or a phone? If a camera, can you change your autofocus point? Also if you're using a camera what's the minimum distance then lens you're using will focus at?

Can't really recommend digital zoom, it is effectively just a crop, you don't actually get 'more' in the picture. Digital zoom is a gimmick/trap.
Any of my photos are cell phone. I want to say most of mine were from my HTC M8, but now I have a Pixel.
For the desk top pictures I just use my mobile phone, I do have a camera for my project end pictures but it's nothing special.
my phone currently but it is only 2 Mp
