Glue

By 414taylor, in X-Wing Painting and Modification

Was sanding my Chiss claw craft to remove the grainy feel and broke off one of the ends where a laser canon is. Tried superglue-no good. Tried modeling glue and it held until I touched it. What kind of glue do I use for the white plastic mini?

Never mind: I found Barry Harkers reply. He uses EMA plastic weld.

Yes here is a Heads up to the Glue thread I made a while ago........

All the best,

Barry.

Barry, I tried flex-I-file. Couldn't find plastruct in a store in the us. The piece was too small and wouldn't weld, so I bought 3 second fix(cures with uv light), and WOW! Now I don't have to throw away the mini and buy a new one. Thanks for your interest in my dilemma. Regards, 414taylor

Yes, I have the same Dilemma.

A lot of the model shops we used to have in the UK have closed on the high streets !

Nearly all gone, apart from the odd few that are many miles away from where I live.

So I now all of my EMA plastic weld is bought off eBay.

Although it is actually cheaper and I buy it in bulk.

I miss the model stores.

A Freind of mine in the US can get it.

He orders his the same way.....on eBay.

But glad you found a solution.

All the best.

Barry.
