This worked well. The Liberty was able to pounce on 3 Artikittens taking one out and ramming the other. Lost both of the lancers but they allowed Sato to be used. Was great fun. I rolled meh but it was good. Need to play it more.

Why the lancers? I've struggled to see why I should use them instead of a cheaper, more resilient, bomber.

Rogue, Speed, Cost.

3 Y-Wings are a potential replacement though

3 ship build though... Would be hard, interesting but hard.

Thing is, you can either try and fight the activation race or just accept it. Each extra activation is worth less, so by choosing not to keep up with the activation race you likely make 25/50 pts of worthless flotillas in all your opponents lists. It still helps to be first player here.

Highly effective activations with first player are potentially stronger than having high number of activations.

Yup. Just getting started working on this, but... it's a thing, just like countering those 30-point DeMSU bids by not bidding was a thing.

Don't get me wrong, activation advantage is definitely valuable, and if I could guarantee that I'd have it every time at no cost, I'd take it. But I'm not convinced that it's everything as some make it out to be, especially if you're bringing ships with large, highly lethal threat zones, or you have ways to force them into your kill zone.

Your fleet here is basically my 500 point c.f. fleet. Except more bombers (to get to 500) and bomber command on the flotillas. Works really well. Just have to be careful to not leave the neb b and pelta hanging out too much because I've had them both be 1 shot by ISDs right when I thought I had victory in the bag

I played 2 ISD list against CNinj 5 ships. Problem was that I couldnt finish anything of. At no point did I feel threatened by the activation advantage of CNinj.

What's your deployment and maneuver thoughts on the 1st two turns? I played a similar list and got murdered. I killed 2 Arq and some sundries but couldn't bring the Imperial class down. He one-shot my pelta when I misplayed a maneuver. He got my mc30 same way.

Are you trying to get into medium range and switch out red/blue dice for black?

how do you speed your salvation? I always seem to get one shot off and then take it in the side and die

I like to start slow. Watch their moves and plan a counter. Against the ISD I actually place the Neb head on if possible and start slow building tokens. From there I watch and focus down the biggest threat.
