A new way to use Slaved Turrets?

I was reading for a second time the new FAQ and at the end of it, I just look at this commentaire for the (not very usefull) Slaved Turrets.

If a ship with this card equipped attacks a
squadron, it can declare additional squadron
targets during its attack.
Does this mean that when you attack squadrons, you can use your AA armement plus that red die for each squadron in this particular fire arc? So if there is 5 squadrons in this fire arc you can use this modification for each shot?
If yes, this card could be finally usefull :)

The card says "when attacking a ship, add 1 red die"

Squadrons ain't no ship!

If only if only lol Slaved turrets only trigger while attacking a ship.

Slaved turrets are a decent discount enhanced armament on say a Vader powered arq or Vic.

Im not a huge fan of it in the vic, prefer spinals. But cannot recommend it hard enough on the Vader Kittens. Very effective.

For 7 you get reroute circuit.

I know what the card said, but I was wondering if the FAQ was saying something else.

So they only mean that if you attack squadron, you do as usual? So nothings new :(

yup! Plus, if you have 2 arcs in which you can attack squadrons, you can only attack from one of the arcs.

Bad modification... bad!!! :(

And DTT works even on one squadron. So not to bad. Slaved Turrets became total worthless now (not that they were used so much before).

I think the only ship I have ever seen them on was Salvation, but there were fewer options back then.

Now you can have your choice of DTT, TRC, Spinal...

I'll try defending Slaved Turrets by noting here that if your playstyle does not rely on double-arcing then Slaved Turrets might be more useful to you cost-wise. Most ships often find themselves with more than one target though, so MAYBE ships in a MSU list with higher unit count might find more 1 target situations.

Again, my personal nitpick with ST is that they should have restricted the 1 attack limit to ships, allowing its 2nd attack to fire on squads, then it might have been more useful(even if cost hike).

DTT vs ST is also not a very direct comparison, as diff ships want them(There was a previous discussion on this, basically small firepower ships with lower chance of getting blanks prefer dice-adders while big firepower ships with higher chance of getting blanks prefer dice-rerollers).

Slaved Turrets waits for a ship with a Title that gives a bonus for only attacking once.

Agreed.

If the effect was optional, I'd be a lot more keen on it. An awful lot more.

The only ship I consider it on nowadays is Vader Arquitens (because Vader supplies the reroll, making +dice effects generally better than the usual Dual Turbolaser Turrets upgrade it wants under most commanders). Even then, I usually don't bother.
