Screwin' around with ramming

By Darth Sanguis, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

So I decided I wanna screw around with a rebel fleet.
I put in a couple of Cr90s to do the whole ramming bit, I also added two mc30s designed to get close and bruise. There's a lifeboat flotilla and 4 a wings for a cheap screen....

My opponent is going to be playing Imperials, and he's been feeling the Interdictor and Arquitten lately, but I have no idea what he's bringing.

Any thoughts on my fleet? little changes to improve it?

Why Rieekan?

Keep those fragile Mc30s and Cr90's in the fight long enough to do their thing. If he brings an ISD or VSD it's quite possible he could kill the CR90s before they get close enough to ram. Same goes for the Mc30s, they have to survive long enough to drop a payload at close range, but they at least have titles to boost survivability.

I see. Would adding Lando to the Admonition and Derlin to the Foresight help you?

Maybe, but actually I'm thinking I may add Advanced Projectors and Lando to Admonition, Foresight has been very survivable in the past and may not need the extra boost. Thanks for the input, it sparked the idea.

You're welcome. :)

personally, I like tycho ans shara with 2 a wings. Dropping the sw-7's off of the b's would give you the pts...

Would you venture investing in Anti fighter would be more useful than dealing 5 damage a turn with the Cr90s? My opponent is not well know for running squadron heavy fleets.

building for a particular fleet that you know doesn't have fighters, no. Taking this to an event where the fleets are a little less easy to determine, yes. The scatters on the two aces will hang up bomber balls like nothing else. Also, tycho's move anywhere plus shara's 3 counter "I dare you to shoot me" allows them to punch above their weight. In my meta, I could almost run tycho, shara, and 4 a wings and be better off, but fit to suit. Like you said, you know the fleet your playing so the sw-7's aren't a bad choice.

I'll keep this in mind though, thank you!

Actually not true. A Cr90 at speed 4 goes from outside red range to ramming in a single turn.

I admit, I don't have much experience with them, I'll have to feel it out, but this is good to know... maybe they'll manage 2 successful rams each?

You should be aiming for 2 and surviving, or 2 and death.

Personally, the sw7s seem like overkill on a ship you expect to die.

Without a real bomber force, I figured any extra damage I could dump into his ships may be useful, Between the Mc30s and the ram90s I figure I may have just enough to topple an ISD, but again, not rightly sure, I don't get a chance at rebels often.

I thought the RBD were a heavy investment as well. Cr90 can be one shot almost at red range. If there are two ships or multiple arcs and bad/good dice and combos
