By Norell, in Star Wars: Armada Rules Questions

Would the two mean speed 5 B-Wings? :)

Yes.

AFFM

[...]

This effect increases the speed of squadrons by an additional 1 that are activated by a ship with Independence equipped.

question for you guys: What's the point of speed 5 B-Wings if they can't attack and get engaged after moving at speed 5?

Turn 1 repositioning is the strongest use of it in most cases. B-wings add deployments, but they dramatically limit your fleet's engagement flexibility as soon as they're down because they're so slow. Indy allows you to shift them fast for early repositioning flexibility, giving you a huge bonus on the deployment curve.

Other applications include Adar, last/first, and increasing the B-wing's value as a multi-role fighter. The B-wing is actually not a bad combat fighter, apart from its speed.

okay. Too bad Indy cost 4 times its actual worth.

It was much better when it was the only option for getting the B-wing into position. It's kind of been eclipsed by cheaper options that don't require an investment in a 115-point battlecarrier now.

Exactly. Plus they let you attack.
