2 falcons???

By iamzoner, in X-Wing Rules Questions

So I have a HOTR falcon and want to purchase an original falcon for the card set. I intend to sell the model and want to know what the chances are on selling it with no title card? Is there any play use for a falcon with no title?

This is the rule forum !?

Sure, not much of one but if you provide the base token, the pilot cards, ect... Someone may be willing to pay $5-10. For just the model alone, I doubt you'd get more then $5.

But as was pointed out this is the rules forum and not really the place for a discussion of this nature.

This isn't really a rules question.

You'll probably sell just the model, but not for a lot. With a dial, it'll probably sell for more as you can't put it on the table without a dial anyway.

Keep it and fly 2 Falcons. #2falcons4lyfe

Yes. This is a rules forum. What other forum is there for this type of question?

How about the general forum? The rules sub-forum is for, you know, rules questions.

There's no forum in general set up for this type of question either.

Aside from which someone needs to know the rules of the game before they can accurately answer my question in the first place. So it's a rules question.

The general forum is for generic questions, queries, and discussions about X-Wing. Your question certainly falls into that category.

It was most certainly not a rules question.

Highlight to us what query regarding the rules you asked.

The only thing less on topic than the original post is an argument about whether the original post is off topic.

Uh, guys - the Falcon rules .

Duh.

The rules forum is for questions about the rules. E.g. "Can tycho perform an action after flying over a debris field?"

The Battle reports forum is for summaries of a particular match. E.g. "This is how the game I played last night went..."

The organized play forum was probably originally meant for discussion of tournament play, but it also gets used as a place to schedule meet ups in advance. E.g. "Hey, anybody in Akron, Oh want to play this Friday" and "They changed tournament scoring/structure/format again, what do you guys think?"

The painting and modification forum is for showing off or asking questions about physical modifications to the miniatures. E.g. "Here's pictures of my latest repaint"

The squad lists forum it's for advice and commentary on specific builds. E.g. "How can I improve this list for the tournament tomorrow?"

The off-topic forum is for things unrelated to X-Wing miniatures. E.g. "West world is an awesome TV show"

The mission control forum is for discussions about FFG's online scenario building tool "mission control" (if it's even still online, Is it?). E.g. "Hey there's a bug in Mission control"

The general forum is for anything else related to X-Wing miniatures, though a lot of stuff that should be in one of the subforms ends up here as well.

A big gray area is topics that are about something else Star Wars related. E.g. discussions of the films, books, or TV shows. Those fit equally well in both general and off-topic.

As for your actual question. A player of the X-Wing miniatures game would have limited use for a falcon model without the cards, but it is a nice model and would probably sell without any problem to a generic Star Wars fan who wanted a toy millennium falcon but didn't care about the game stuff at all.

Just because I want to troll you guys who think this topic is worth a dozen replies:

His question was is there a rule that would prohibit the use a YT-1300 without the Falcon Title, since the expansion is called the Millennium Falcon expansion. And the answer is, no - you do not have to play this ship with the title.

No, his question was will anybody buy a model without the cards that come with it.

We should really let this thread die.

It's a rules question.

Dang. "Let's hang him" for a question.

Nobody is being hung. He's being informed about the way the forum works. Nobody has been rude, or insulted him, or told him to piss off.

Half the problem these days is that people a) refuse to acknowledge their errors (even innocent ones), and b) others are not allowed to point them out in an effort to correct and educate, because the get accused of 'hanging people' and the like.

Or being told of "political incorrectness". If someone makes a mistake, inform them. That way they will learn and hopefully not repeat that mistake.

Since this thread already got pedantic and English is a weird language technically it's 'nobody is being hanged' since that's the past tense for hanging people.
