Is Redundant Shields a decent card?

Id take it for 6 or 7pts if it wasnt a modification. Id use it frequently on long range skirmishers like the Kitten, CR90s, etc. Id consider it a must have on the MC80 at that point.

As it is, nah, its the upgrade that I loved but could never justify.

instead of advanced projectors? Ish.

Hahahaha, redundant shields, pelta with shields to max and flotilla with repair crews on standby - my opponent hates taking on my mc80 with anything less than a imp star or super up vic

ive had good experiences with the card

The one advantage that RS brings over RBD is keeping crits off the hull.

Yes, shields are budgeted cheaper than hull in terms of ship cost and engineering points, and yes, you will be doing well if you get 3 shields back over the course of a game, but if you have a plan for waging a sustained-fire attrition fight, RS could in theory provide advantages that RBD doesn't.

Damned if I know what that fleet would look like--just pointing out that there are advantages that could be leveraged if done well. I could see it on a GT Foresight/Derlin scout, for example.

Advanced projectors have a very, very different job. One Id rather have on something like the MC80/30 who are going to want to be in the middle of everything.
