Discovered this a few days ago. Spearmen can charge 3 strait, or 2 bank. Which is faster?

Initially I though 3 strait, right?

Wrong.

A 2 wide tray ends a 2 bank charge with it's outside corner just a bit further than a 3 strait move.

A 3 wide tray ends a 2 bank charge with it's outside corner move than range 5 forward of it's starting location, roughly dead ahead of the center of it's starting spot.

In theory, you could metered march to end just outside of range 5 of an enemy, and on the following turn, order a 2 bank charge and swing your outside corner into contact; covering the firing range of the enemy without them getting a shot off.

Try playing around with straits and banks and see where the units end.

It really is a fun game.
And there's nothing wrong with considering the faction you play out of the box as your "secondary faction" while you wait for your main faction to come out.

or just sell off your other stuff also you will have a better grasp on the rules. And you would already be spending some of the money on the essentials pack anyway, and you get to play the game, and you get to play the game, AND YOU GET TO PLAY THE GAME!!!!

You should. Waiting until the Uthuk drop before getting into the game at all will probably end up with one of the following outcomes:

1. You'll love the game and wish you had started playing earlier.
2. You'll get your Uthuks and be disappointed because the game didn't live up to your expectations.

4x3 Reanimates can go SO FAST with a 2 bank

Always any issue with rank and file games. Some other games had rules to mitigate it. I guess for RuneWars shrewd terrain placement would be used to mitigate an opponent's wide frontage. 'Snaking' also exposes flanks more often.... but it's a method of crossing the table a little quicker if up against a Refused Flank and space allows.
