Howdy all.

So I was very impressed by John Proctor's Stele Open list (Norra Shara Jess)

I wanted to put my own spin on it (i.e I don't have a second Arc or HOTR) so I came up with this:

The idea behind the bandit is that he will act as a one turn Biggs. (assuming I can finagle a target lock for him).

What would anyone think about replacing the homing missiles on Miranda for thread tracers and proton torps to make the bandit a more sure threat? Again, his only purpose is to pull one round of fire away from Norra and Miranda but I would rather have Miranda shooting in the first round.

I've tried Nora Miranda lists. I usually find the weak matchup is against alpha strike. I'd use the third ship for a blocker to make sure Norra or Miranda live through the initial engagement.

If you want a good alpha strike/joust list I'd drop Miranda for something more able to dogfight after the initial engagement.

I think the zed is fine as is and the homing over proton and tracers is probably the way to go.

But the Jan Ors and Kyle Katarn combo looks like a lot of points and a pretty high oppertunity cost for an evade token on Norra.

How about this instead?

You have a very fair point about Kyle/Jan. The biggest advantage I see is that with the way I have it the evade is certain and Jan can stick around to help Miranda if they kill Norra. But you make a good point with Sabine for added bomb danger.

I may have to break down and buy a ghost.

Yeah, I'm trying to avoid the Ghost splurge myself:)

I am not am fan of bombs and ordinance and TLT on Miranda. I have been left in awe as all those points disappear quickly in round 1-2 of shooting.

What role is Miranda for you? Ordinance, bomber or antagonizer (TLT)? This will free up points for your other ships. Maybe run 2 Zeds? Procket A-wing?

After giving this a go last night I am forced to agree. Also I realized that Norra and Miranda have competing priorities and can end up too far away for Jan to be helpful.

Thus these changes:

Kyle allows for a reposition with VT or to make is not necessary to Ptl after a green move.

Miranda still has a set of missiles for the opening engagement but after that will kite away and aim for range 3.

Clusters on the bandit are still threatening enough to make it a plausible target instead of the other two but are much more likely to get off in the second round.

My tournament is today so wish me luck!
