It was confirmed it does.

I don't understand the templace and I'm skeptical that the trade-off is worth it, but that's something we'll have to test and see when we'll be able to play.

Confirmed by who? I would need to see some actual proof of it.

Up to 6 in addition to 2 slightly tougher provinces if you get 2 out.

Using those 6 buys is going to be hard for sure though. Even 4 is hard at the 7 Fate curve. Can't wait to start deck building.

Brad Andres, on discord.

Well, personalities aren't intended to stay in play for the entire game, so maybe holdings aren't intended to stay in their province the entire game. Figuring out how long to hold onto them and when to pitch them may feature prominently in good tactics.

I don't really buy whatever discord is. I would need something by this 'person' to confirm he is who is says he is. It also doesn't help that you can call yourself whatever on that service.

Ok, so my question still stands. What's the use of the Crab holding?

Edit: OK, read JJ48's answer after my post and I stupidly missed that the action may also be used during the conflict and not only during the Dynasty Phase. I stand corrected.

move your +2 province strength to a province you want it on more, or move a character to province you want it on more.

Brad Andres, DarbimusPrime, was in the L5R Discord.

Perhaps, but if the channel is official, moderators could get rid of people masquerading as official employees when they're not.

Remember you can save Fate up every turn if you do not spend it. A Lion swarm deck filled with 1 and a few 2 Fate characters and 2 of these might be able to buy a full set of personalities every turn on just 7 Fate.

the channel is affiliated with the subreddit, and if we find thats happening, we'd definitely do that. i'm taking steps to verify that the DarbimusPrime on the discord is real

Shinsei's Shrine was considered to be a good card as a Region which prevented the Province from re-filling.

Super exciting especially given that the Stronghold gives Mil buff to every character in the Conflict. Lion swarm is real.

If there is a way to discard holdings, it adds an interesting dimension to them as they potentially could be used to thin your deck.

Hmmmm, so holdings could be potentially detrimental. Outside of one example, I don't remember any old cards that took up dynasty slots being played. Those flips seem way too precious.

What do you mean by official? Moderators, if any are present on that channel at that time, would have to go through several different means before determining whether or not someone is who they say they are, correct?

Ok, keep us in touch about the situation.

So glad they cleared up the "honor/drawing" mechanic.

you'd also need to have a way to flip things in province. it would be a somewhat card intensive combo, potentially.

Fun note, I think they've updated the wording since it first got released

When the article first came out this morning, the phrasing on holdings was far more generic and just implied that it took up slots in your deck. New phrasing implies more that they live in the province slot and affect the province.

And they already fixed at least who flips stuff up too. I'll look through it again to see if I notice anything else.

It would make the Crane unique godly since he wouldn't devour a province's production and can provide a body to defend with. We'd be looking at a Crane staple regardless of the deck.

FFG is going to learn so much about releasing info with discrepancies, inaccuracies and ambiguities from these fanatical L5R players... at least fixing things quickly.

I'm surprised this hasn't been a problem in their past. I proofread my emails before I send them out, so I'd double check before I sent this stuff out to the world. Maybe someone just made a mistake and posted the wrong version.

That's true. Notice I was not saying holdings are bad cards and won't be played, just that I wasn't sure that some we saw were worth it.

Thinking about it a little more, at least for the Lion one and the Phoenix one, I'm changing my mind.

That's why I said I'll need to test it to understand their usefullness. I'm not really good at theorycrafting.

It's always this way with FFG articles. GoT, ANR etc all of the fanbases start shooting questions on Twitter, Facebook, wherever and then the article gets fixed or something gets clarified.

No, the FFG Press Team is just not good at checking whether or not what they are publishing is correct or makes sense.

(Also, ashigaru don't have blood feuds. They exist purely for the will of the Samurai caste.)

This is my fault. I thought there might have been more than one Samurai in each of these armies.

I'm learning a lot about Rokugan today. :D
