Origins of the beast

By Milova, in Dark Heresy

Some of you may remember a thread I made a while back in the GM's forum about a showdown (or slaughter) where a Death Watch kill team has been dispatched wrongfully to take out my players' inquisitor, and they'll be busting in on a wedding no less. Well the time has come for the close of this chapter and the arrival of the Death Watch. Taking a suggestion I'm making the six man squad into rough characters. Now only three will be actually scene in the chapel by the players as the other three will be remaining outside to slay any xenos interference (the group is undercover in the Tau empire), and in one's case to assault from afar (he has a nice archeotech anti-armor las cannon).

Those going to actually be in sight are "Captain-Fist" an eager melee fighter that will drop from the ceiling into near proximity; "Heavy Hitter" a marine shouldering two bolt-gatlings who will be at the chapel double doors; and "Brother Kilright" poking his head out from the fresh skylight produced by our far away friend with some manner of heavy sniping equipment. All four attacking will have equipment to supplement their accuracy, as to not hit each other. I have a plan for how things will go down, and how my players just barely escape (only to come face to face with a xenos nasty later) with their lives. What I need help with is choosing what chapters the three visible marines are from. Normally it would be a no-brainer to make Captain-Fist a Space Wolf, but I've already had one in this campaign and would like to use a different chapter.

Anyone ideas on which chapters to use for the given three marines?

Oh, and before anyone starts arguing against space marines because they "break DH" or "will kill my players before they can breath"...this is happening. I have my plans, and they will not change. I just need help picking which three chapters to use for Captain-Fist, Heavy Hitter, and Brother Kilright. If you want, I'd also accept help coming up with unique traits for each, though.

Death Watch, Blood Ravens, and Ultramarines

what can i say the generality is good lol

Captain Fist - If not a Space Wolf, than Blood Angel would be the next obvious choice as a melee monster. Not sure about the others...

Really they could be any chapter. If you're campaign is the Calixis sector, Black Templars have a historical presence IIRC. Segmentatum Obscurus includes the homeworlds of the Iron Hands, Space Wolves and Dark Angels.

IIRC there's also a pair of Iron Hands dreadnaughts kicking around the Calixis sector somewhere (I forget where but it's in the corebook's planet fluff section), so the Iron Hands wouldn't be unreasonable.

Why not have a Hammer of Judgement. After all they are already in the calixis sector from Purge the Unclean.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. To answer your questions, no the campaign doesn't take place in the Calixis Sector. It actually takes place in a Sub-Sector of my own creation. I've done some looking at the big chapters out there. Based upon what I read there and here, I'm thinking the following:

Captain Fist: Either Blood Angel or Iron Fist

Heavy Hitter: Imperial Fist or Ultramarine

Brother Kilright: probably Blood Raven

Those going to actually be in sight are "Captain-Fist" an eager melee fighter that will from the ceiling into near proximity; Space Wolf Wolf Guard

"Heavy Hitter" a marine shouldering two bolt-gatlings who will be at the chapel double doors; Iron Hand Devastator

"Brother Kilright" poking his head out from the fresh skylight produced by our far away friend with some manner of heavy sniping equipment. Dark Angel Ravenwing
