Worlds 2017 Prizes are up!
Love the alternate art for the Inquisitor, but the layout of the card is kinda funky.
Man those dice are ugly.
The mats are cool, everything else is 'meh'. A sheet of un cut cards as a top 4 prize? lol Someone must have screwed up the prize rankings so they were just like "QUICK what can we do last minute!??!"

Joke's on you: they had the same prize for all the games last year. I never understood why uncut sheets are considered cool prizes. In MtG maybe where you have a decent variety of cards, but for a bazillion copies of the same card? That wouldn't even look good on the wall.

Lol yeah do you use the playmat? Or was it something different last time I can't remember? But more interesting question is: have you gotten to start developing a card yet?
No, why would I ever use that? What's also pretty bad about it: if you lose while you're using it, you really feel like an idiot.
Card development is underway. Can't really say anymore than that.
If I were to win, I wouldn't need to use the mat to flaunt my ego. I'll be carrying around my sheet of uncut cards for that :-). All will quake before my, uh, decorative roll of duplicate cards!

I think it'd be fun to play with at home with friends but that's about it
totally understand. It does look cool though. Is it the same material as the official maps?
And I totally get that you can't say anything. I can only imagine how they keep from giving away too much to ya about what's in the pipeline. "No we can't do something like that. That character is already in the works...or never going to be in the game...I mean I've said too much"
It's the same as the other playmats.
What is the point of an IA playmat with no map? does it keep your drinks from damaging the table?

The dice look mostly good to me too, other than yellow and black, which I honestly didn't even recognize at first glance.
The uncut sheet just look... honestly, I feel like it's just something that would end up in the trash at my house.
I liked the one you roll out to put your deployment cards on, the World Champ one is a bit much, just means you have to roll a mat out on top of another mat... assuming they made it big enough to hold the other mats in the middle.
Pair this with some ugly dice and quarterly kit level acrylic tokens and we have a sub par prize package. Ah well, you guys are playing for the glory anyway!
I'm sure someone is willing to over pay for those prizes on ebay...

They were pretty cool in Legend of the Five Rings.... then again, that was a collectable card game and the sheets were of common, uncommon, and rare cards of mostly exceptional art.

I dunno, if I was playing against someone who rolled that out, I'd:
1) Appreciate the heads up that I was about to get styled on
2) Ask questions about Worlds, their favorite color, or the weather, since any energy spent attempting to beat my opponent would be wasted
I have dice sets that I've gotten from Regionals or trades and I just use them because I like the way they look. Though a mapless mat with IA is a bit of a curiosity, I admit.

I'm not going to lie. It really ticked me off. More than Kylo's stupid lightsaber.
It definitely didn't make me anywhere close to angry. I just find it so hilariously bad I can't help but laugh lol, I actually busted out laughing the first time I saw it. It's so comical. Even now I'm chuckling to myself typing this... hah what were they thinking..
