Store Championships

By shmitty, in Star Wars: Armada

Is attending at least 7 of these overkill....?

Also reinforces the fact I have 4 I can reasonably attend.

Thanks. I stole the idea from your x-wing SC map.

They may not be Regionals, but it's great to see several stores in California getting larger events and exposure. I never would have known that there was an Armada group in Eureka, for example. And Also, unlike the Regionals, the distribution is far better. Sacramento getting a Store Champ means that Northern California and Nevada have a much more centralized location.

Seriously though, for the West Coast this is much more like what it should be in Regionals. 1-2 in Southern California, 1 in Las Vegas, 1 in Arizona, 2 in Northern California (1 Bay ,1 Valley to cover rest of state and northern Nevada), 1 in Oregon, 1 in Seattle/Tacoma, 1 in Spokane. This basically ensures that everyone on the West Coast has a Regional that can be attended for a day without airfare (if they want).

Also, while Game Kastle says Santa Clara, depending on interest they may move that to their other store in Mountain View with much more table space.

Its the nature of Store Champs. If you're a Store. And you Want one. You get one, as long as you havn't screwed up in the past :D .

I agree entirely. Our group in northern nevada is already planning to attend a few of these and we have been talking about regionals and the fact that the closest is am 8 hour drive to Vegas. It would be awesome to see more action in our direction.

We're working on something in the Bay Area at least. After this last season, we are refusing to let that happen again without a fight. I was the only person from the Bay Area we are aware of who went to the San Diego or Las Vegas regionals, despite several competition level players (several of whom placed highly). The other players had to go to Utah, Ohio, and further because it was actually cheaper and easier to organize. I can't imagine how frustrating it was for you guys in and around Reno, at least Sacramento should be a relatively quick 2 hour drive.

I hope that includes Pittsburgh.

You're killing me, Regionals. Four tournaments in Massachusetts, and they're all on top of each other in a corner of Eastern mass by the Cape?

Nobody has seen the prizes yet?

the only thing we're certain of is that the kits will include copes of the World Series alt-art cards.

OH YES. GOING TO AS MANY AS POSSIBLE. Even if just for the Evade Tokens....Well. And Dodonna.

Yeah I may have to drive to cali for 1 or 2...

Hoping to see more people packing plastic range rulers, even if they're hand-me-downs from previous events. The lack of official acrylic rulers for Armada or X-wing (outside of prize support) is a travesty.

Technically, no. But that doesn't prevent me from making the trip all things being equal. :)

Also see that you guys have two events as well this time.

Got one date already: June 10th for Drawbridge Games. Smaller store, room for 12 players or so.

Holy ****, there's actually a store championship in my city. Yay!

No picture, but the card is gr75 transport with great art.. 5x evade tokens top 8, top 4 a black with red and green colored double sided ruler
