Question about spellcast modifier

By neodruid, in WFRP Rules Questions

I have a question, a basic spell modifier is Simple ( 0 challenge die)?

In melee or range combat is Easy ( 1 challenge die) modified by action card challenge and others circumstances. I didn't find any information about that test in spell casting actions.

For spells cast during combat, I add at least one Challenge die to reflect the difficulty of maintaining concentration in the situation.

You could also force a discipline check beforehand, if they fail that they gain 1 challenge die, if they pass the difficulty is normal.

Also, I can't recall off the top of my head right now if there is an adjustment made for being engaged or not. I don't recall one though...

I made a modifier for range actions based on range ( close 1d, medium 2d, long 3d, and as in said in weapon + 1d for extremal range ), i i think i use i melee combat modifier +1d to i an opponent have specialization in doge ore block. ( if you attack a warrior that have improve dodge with all benefits and have dodge specialization the attacker have modifier: 1d for basic melee attack + 1d + +1d for specialization in dodge and +2 misfortune for improved dodge, if warrior can't use improve dodge the attack have 2d modifier ). For the spell casting I didn't think about modifiers.

The FAQ says the basic difficulty of spellcasting is Simple 0d, before taking into account target characteristics etc. that may matter.

The base difficulty of a spell is 0d ... unless the spell is a "vs Defense", then it is treated like an attack (i.e. 1d), or if it asks for an opposed check.
