This sounds like one hell of a campaign. All this and your interdictor, wow. How long has this campaign been going on?
We've had the occasional 2 missions per week and the occasional weekends off for playing other games, but by and large we've been at it for 7 months straight. We're just now finishing the main campaign and moving into season 2, which will be all custom content built from the ground up!
The Advanced Naval Vessel for Intelligence and Logistics, or ANVIL line of seigebreaker craft produced by Rothana Heavy Engineering saw extremely limited use during the Clone Wars due to the tremendous expense of the onboard support systems and the complexity of the crafts revolutionary design philosophy. The systems onboard the ANVIL were operated via a pair of linked astromech droids that were hardwired permanently into the ANVILs droid sockets and shared their computational power with a further 3 onboard droid brains within the starship itself. These brains functioned in concert with the astromechs to provide the pilot and the squadron the ANVIL was supporting with unparalleled situational awareness on the battlefield and vital combat data interfaced directly into the pilots HUD's instantaneously throughout the battle. The ANVIL was designed to fulfill multiple roles at once, so as to better fit in with any squad in which the craft found itself, but the primary purpose of the ship was to serve as a seigebreker craft that could use the ships advanced computers and droid brains to concoct strategems for dismantling any prolonged enemy attacks and providing counter-options to enemy assets. The ship never saw wide use in the waning days of the war due primarily to the ANVIL's lack of speed if not incredible low-speed agility, but mostly due to an inherent issue in the use of multiple droids that would tend to argue incessantly over the pilots own inadequacies as observed by them during combat. The droids would regularly "borrow" the ANVILS controls and make adjustments to the ships heading and course that might save the pilot and the ship from harm without informing them and would contest if the pilot attempted to reassert control. The clone pilots to which these ships were assigned would rarely last longer than a dozen missions before they requested a transfer to a less "chatty" starship.
The Alliance cell in the Aturi cluster known as the Irregulars was known to have discovered a single mothballed ANVIL seigebreaker in an Old Republic hangar and utilized the ship to great effect in their struggle against the Empire in that sector of space in spite of the ships quirkiness.
Silver Sun, the pilot of the ANVIL took to upfitting and modifying the droid brains of this Seigebreaking craft to make them more receptive to his piloting and further reupped the aging communications and coordination equipment to better interface with modern technology, giving the Irregulars a powerful and resilient support craft that is more than capable of holding its own against the dearth of terrifying enemies that the plucky rebel cell face on a regular basis.
The ANVIL was named the Sunspark and was further modified by Sun with a fire-linked cannon system that allows the craft for use its heavy cannon weaponry from both the front and rear of the craft simultaneously, giving it a superb field of fire.
The Falchion-class Ion-strikecraft retrofit outfits the ANVIL with a potent ion dispersal generator that adds to the already potent cannon weaponry.
The Astro-guided suicide bomb codenamed: Bon Voyage, was a failsafe introduced to the ANVIL by Silver Sun in the event that the astromechs and droid brains decided they would try and rest control of the ship from him at an inopportune time. It allowed him to jettison the astromechs via the ships bombgate and used their maneuvering rockets to guide bombs to a target of his choosing at the cost of the astromechs murderous existence. ![]()
(disclaimer) This and the previous ship are both ps9 and higher hotac player ships and thus have some pretty bonkers abilities. The Gamblewraith is a prototype Star Courier that was "liberated" from Raith Sienars private museum by Irregular squadron and has several features that distinguish it from both the standard Star Courier and the Scimitar that was later commissioned by Darth Sidious for use by his nefarious apprentice Darth Maul.
Her pilot has a tendency to come out of cloak with guns blazing at the expense of the ships maneuverability with all power diverted to weapons and the ships targeting systems.
The Gamblewraith title allows the ship to optimize its already incredibly powerful attack ability by splashing any additional damage past the fatal damage on another ship and then splash further damage onto another after that one if it kills its target. Excellent for taking out clusters of low health enemies.
Afterimage Decloaking allows the Gamblewraith to decloak using a 2 speed template of the same bearing as a move it chose this turn, giving the ship the ability to decloak into some really cool positions!
She has one of the least interesting dials out of all the player ships in my current campaign, but the addition of her decloaking mod and the firepower she brings to the field is absolutely unsurpassed, even if she is a sort of glass cannon. When we need some clusters of enemies downed, Dai Coronas and his Gamblewraith are who we call to the front of the squadron.
The reward ship for the pilot with the most points earned at the end of season one... The Empty Sky is quite possibly the most powerful ship in the squadron and rightfully so. This ship began life as an enemy that would randomly appear during the final stage of mission arcs and has been an absolutely hated enemy for my squadron for a solid 5 months straight. We've never been able to kill the thing in its elite form, and whenever it shows up, the ship inevitably kills half the squadron and we spend most of the time just trying our best to run away from it while attempting to complete our missions, so I made an ultimatum for my guys. I told them that if any of them could successfully get to 100 experience without dying, that they could buy into a mission where we steal the rogue shadow... And damned if one of them didn't accomplish the feat, thus I had to come up with something seriously amazing to make it worth all the trouble that pilot went through to win this mighty vessel.
Her enemy iteration made this ability horrific to deal with as the ship pretty much constantly changed our dials and forced us to come up with other means to circumvent the ships ability (hera was a necessity when it showed up) In practice as a player ship it isn't quite as powerful as it was against us, but still nutty when used against the imperial ai.
The ability to double cloak and double slam makes this ship one of the most evasive and maneuverable in our entire squadron and allows her to pull off some incredible feats of maneuverability, but possibly the most beneficial thing about this is the ability to double decloak, allowing the ship to come out of cloak with a pair of large-base barrel rolls or 2 1 straights.
The Hypermatter Blink Drive is a dual purpose modification that gives the Empty Sky the ability to either discard a weapons disabled token to perform a second primary weapon attack, or leverage your pilot skill against an enemies and attempt a hostile takeover of their movement and attack! You can only do one or the other once per turn, but both abilities are fantastic, especially if you can use the system hack on turns when you're cloaked.
The dial is one of the more interesting things about this ship. It's limited to only speed 3 moves, but it has all of them and none of them are red. With the amount of stress the ship is producing from its various abilities, the ship will be in need of a skilled pilot to reign in her controls and optimize her movement while also utilizing her actions as much as possible!
