By Nikolishin, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I going for my trusty U-boats for the SC-season - but can't decide on which list:

R4 Agromech (2)
Guidance Chips (0)

If you're doing option B, that bid ain't worth much. May as well up a plasma to a proton, or toss on Boba or 4-Lom or something.

But between the two I actually prefer A. It has fewer munitions, true, but a Bumpmaster allows you to deny actions, do incidental damage, and set up both your other ships for their opening volleys via Attani Mindlink, while in the second list, only two will get off their opening volley, and the third will sort of plink. While after that opening volley all three can chuck torps in the second round, I still think that the bump master will be better, as no tokens on an ace is better than an extra torp shot, for me at least.

I do also prefer the first one, a bumpmaster makes it easier to plan now that you need the target lock to fire the torps.

I am not completely sure on r5-p8 tho, sure you are going to be the one at close range and probably the target but with IA and a good maneuvering bumpmaster should be more blocking and making people move out of his way thus getting out of arc and not that much fireshots. It could easily be a feedback array/black market slicer tools and use the point to 4lom the other u-boat. Thats just a thought.

On other options there is also the fen rau 2xU-Boats list that looks cool too.

Not a option for me ;) I have decided for 3 Jumpmasters - they fit like a old shoe ;)

Maybe I could go for option number C:

Contracted Scout (25)
Attanni Mindlink (1)
Extra Munitions (2)
Plasma Torpedoes (3)
R4 Agromech (2)
Guidance Chips (0)

Contracted Scout (25)
Attanni Mindlink (1)
Extra Munitions (2)
Proton Torpedoes (4)
Boba Fett (1)
R4 Agromech (2)
Guidance Chips (0)

Contracted Scout (25)
Attanni Mindlink (1)
"Gonk" (2)
Feedback Array (2)
Anti-Pursuit Lasers (2)

Gonk honestly isn't worth it. He's fun, but I find you rarely get the time to recover more than a shield in a full game. I'd sooner give the bumpmaster Intel Agent and Unhinged for flexibility, or just Intel and stick 4-LOM on the other boat (which is really solid).

Feedback, however, I'm down with. I've run that to terrifying effect on Jumps before. Either people don't see it coming and take damage at a crucial time, or they do see it coming and have to awkwardly reposition and/or focus that ship instead of the ordnance carriers.

Thanks for all the replies, feedback and input. I think i'm going with this list:

Contracted Scout (25)
Attanni Mindlink (1)
Extra Munitions (2)
Plasma Torpedoes (3)
4-LOM (1)
R4 Agromech (2)
Guidance Chips (0)

Contracted Scout (25)
Attanni Mindlink (1)
Extra Munitions (2)
Proton Torpedoes (4)
Boba Fett (1)
R4 Agromech (2)
Guidance Chips (0)

Contracted Scout (25)
Attanni Mindlink (1)
Intelligence Agent (1)
Feedback Array (2)
Anti-Pursuit Lasers (2)

I like it, looks solid, just get used to a good setup. I guess a good one should be to do a hard turn with the bumpmaster and bumping with the others and then turtling there or flying in a triangle formation.

May be trying to flank with the bumpmaster on a fast speed could also make the trick.

I think that I will use the bumpmaster to get some distance between the missilboats and the target.

So, I personally prefer Option A because it brings Boba/Protons and those can win games all by themselves.

I don't get the Bumpmaster build though, specifically why R5 is on there when it's the last thing your opponent is going to either want to shoot at, or even be able to shoot at because it's a bumpmaster that's bumped!

I'd go for the Plasma and Proton from Option A, drop Extra Munitions from the Proton dude, and add Fenn Rau.

I'm always in favour of Bumpmasters. It's a shame it has to be cut down to fit, but it is what it is. The Boba/Proton, 4-LOM/Plasma is too solid to pass up.
