Fishing for comments and criticism on my first paint job before I set it with sealer. Considering adding grey or red to the U-wing canopy, red to the engine panels, and number stripes to the nose or tails of the A-wings.

I don't see how that is your first attempt. Fantastic work! Those stripes are amazing.

Sometimes less is more - what you've done so far is awesome.

Absolutely loving the subtle changes to the A's!

Your one suggestion about the red engine panels on the U is worth considering, to tie in the the A scheme - perhaps keeping the intake cowling white then the rest red (but leaving the nozzles as is) or maybe even leaving the 2 rings just before the nozzle white as well. Also leaving a white stripe along the top of each upper engine (to match the A's fins)... I think too much more red would disrupt the symmetry of the squadron.

@ABXY for the engines I was just thinking the rectangular panels red, leaving the intakes and exhaust rings white as you suggested. I'm split on it because I think it's perfect as is with the wings open, but wings closed looks like it needs a splash of red on the engines, particularly in formation with the A-wings.

Yeah, that's exactly it...

... I guess you could go with whichever way you expect it to fly most often.

How are your photoshop skills? - perhaps you could mock-up the extra red on the wings-open pic, and see if it's not too much...

That U-Wing us beautiful! I wouldn't touch it too much more. How are your lines so crisp? Tape?

If you paint one rectangular panel on the engine red, it shouldn't disrupt things.

I really like how you worked out the stripes on the wings for both the open and closed configurations. Clever! And that mustard color is juuuuust subtle enough to almost disappear, yet there's enough contrast with the lighter off-white on the body of the ships that it's perfect for individualizing each ship. Great work.

Thank you. Yes, I got some tiny masking tape from a local model shop. Took a few tries to work out, but I'm very happy with the result
