Starting with an Interdictor review !
Cannot Get Your Ship Out 4/23-4/29

I was not keen on it after it originally released, I got rekt by a couple of liberties right after release.... but over the course of several 500-1200 point games, I'm in love with it. I've even been working on a way to fit it into my pulse tap fleet. It's always a kick to play.
I find it very disturbing that the "Nose Punch" is not considered very competitive in its concept - yet its the only Tournament Winning Interdictor list I know of.
.. But, you know, I'm kinda biased on that
Another good article!
Do you ever run hybrid builds? Or do you craft your interdictor for just the one specific purpose?
I.E. taking a Suppresion Refit with X-7s and GSR, and also having Projection Experts?

You can certainly do hybrid builds too. With the open support team and experimental retrofit slots on some of the builds you can certainly throw in Projection Experts and Grav Shift Reroute, for example.

To be fair I did mention that those G-7s are good for that FCT-aided Rhymer punch on turn one! I was thinking of you!
Interdictors are a special kind of kid on the playground. They are difficult to get used to but if you get to know him, he becomes one of your best friends

Well.. the other successful concept (the only Regional Top-4) - Admiral's Boat and squadron killer also wasn't considered as an option (and yes, I'm also biased ;)) )

Ok, I've been trying to build that way, and it's hard to keep low-points. Do you have a target number that you decide "this is how many points I can build an interdictor up to"?
I have been finding the Proj-Experts Interdictor very helpful for a pair of Light Cruisers, being very shield-reliant ships with their double-redirects, they definitely appreciate having one of their shield-arcs completely refilled every turn.

That's the persistent Interdictor problem, really. Points tend to balloon out as you look to attach more functions to the Interdictor to enhance its support abilities or give it a bit more offensive/defensive oomph. There's something to be said for keeping it as cheap as possible to include more stuff and there's something to be said for loading it up to make its expense more justifiable, but it still gets expensive.

Exactly!
For me the breaking point is somewhere between 110-120 points as I start to question myself - what is the reason I'm not bringing an ISD1 with some killer upgrades instead?
Personally, I am not a fan of this ship as a Christmas Tree. Pick a role for the ship and let it excel at that role at 100-110 points. Or park your Admiral on it for 140 points or so.

I've found the only thing you need to want your Admiral on it is Tua for ECMs, then just spam Engineering.
I love the Interdictor and currently can't build an Imperial fleet without one.

Damage Control Officer / Targeting Scrambler is an option as well. Make that double contain work for you.
At 500...
Vader Tua ECM ISD-I, Demo-II.
Jonus.
Dictor with Scramblers.
Oh what glorious close range exchanges we have.
I'm surprised that the article doesn't mention Jerjerrod as a possible admiral. The Interdictor loves him, and especially with Engine Techs you literally can't NOT double-arching your enemy.

Jerry helps a little for sure, but he's not as strong with it as with other ships because he's only ever adding one click. At speed 1 you can double that with Engine Techs, but I didn't feel it was a strong enough interaction to merit mention. Jerry can certainly be a compelling argument for the other ships you're including with an Interdictor (like VSDs especially) to include him, though.
I'd also follow that, an Interdoctor makes it even less painful for your other ships to spend a shield to get that harder turn, when the ID can just throw a new shield back in its place for them, keeping your other ships at full capacity.
Granted you're spending at least 100pts to do this...but oh well!

As for other stuff, it's largely a matter of when Eric and I can find time to work on these all. I've got a turbolaser one going in the next few days and I'm looking towards Madine/the LMC80 soon enough....
Nooooooooooooooo

I got the TIE Bomber review for my birthday. Maybe I should take that as a hint....
