Seems like this topic wasn't a joke after all, just (two weeks) ahead of it's time...
Nerf Advanced SLAM

Wouldnt affect the problem that much. They designed SLAM to be a double move with no attack. In a way this replicate a classic RPG mechanism where you can sacrifice your attack/spell to move twice. Problem is that by being able to drop a bomb after a SLAM, you are doing as much dmg (if not more) than if you did attack.
Even if there was a stress added after the bomb drop, the damage would still be done. Bombs are supposed to be harder to apply and they compensate for that by bypassing agility. With SLAM, they are too easy to apply and IMO they become better than a regular attack.
Edited by Thormind...that's why I errata'd it to say "free action from your action bar."
You can't drop Cluster Mines, Proximity Mines or Conner Nets with a free action from your action bar.
Now receive one stress token.
Even without the stress just limiting it to "action bar" would essentially kill Advanced Slam. Nobody is breaking the game getting a TL with their advanced slam.
I have to agree that advanced slam is currently a problem. Not that it necessarily rules the world but it is largely impossible to stop. There's few things in the game that you can't counter in some way but adv slam + bomb (especially with sabine) is something that's intensely hard to block or mitigate and it is rock-paper-scissors to a huge chunk of lists.
We should start a thread of what people DONT want nerfed. Would be a short post

I would be cool with SLAM being restricted to the actions in the action bar. Stress might be too much.

But even that would spark so much fighting, as the camps for and against nerfing something like Mindlink are numerous on both sides.
But could you then just use Experimental Interface? If you can do action in your action bar and that would allow you to do action from a card? So that would bring bit more cost to Miranda but not restrict dropping bombs after advance SLAM.

THIS ^
Maybe advanced SLAM is a bit too good with bombs and sabine but killing K-wing bombers entirely is excessive. I think just adding a stress would do it, that way it would allow you to still use mines (which if we all remember were languishing in the back of the binder before advanced SLAM came along) but it would force harder tactical choices.
Another soft nerf would be to limit Sabine to bomb templates at range 1, that way its pretty much limited to things that came out of the ship she is on.

...crap.
Be careful, if you remove Regen, Advanced Slam, TLTs and Sabine from K-Wings you'll, ummmmmm
.......have a Punisher?
Miranda is still a pretty nasty torp boat

Nope, because Experimental Interface and Advance SLAM are both mods. You'd be able to equip one or the other.

Haha, that's valid point!!
So I'm in then!

If ICT were a better option than K's would have a natural counter. As it is something with ICT beats K's but loses to almost everything else because it can't hit most ships reliably.
As a K Winger myself, I greatly fear Ion Control Lists...Slamming isn't as useful if you can only slam a 1.
Nerf X-Wings and Jumpmasters
Stop being short sighted. If you limit Adv Slam to just the use of the action bar (you don't need the added stress element) then that is able to bring arc dodgers back to competitive play. With them viable again they are able to reel in everyone's favorite ship, the Jumpmaster. After that, all you have to do is make it so that if a ship has stress they can't receive a focus token from Attani Mindlink.
