Pretty happy with the fleet. The laundry list of character squadrons give the fleet a fair bit durability even without Gallant Haven nearby, but more importantly a lot of options to deal with Various situations (Ten Numb wrecks fighter balls, Luke can solo low hull ships, Keyan is just generally a bastard and Wedge can often one shot those annoying aces with scatter tokens). Took a fair bit of trial and error to get to this point. Toryn Farr basically has to be on the Gallant Haven because it's always in the middle of everything, the Bomber Command needed the boosted comms to give me better positioning options which was a big stumbling block in earlier builds, the Fighter Coordination Team is essential to adjusting formations on the fly and the flagship shipping whatever token is needed and filtering unneeded ones is incredibly useful. Originally had more generic squadrons, but with Adar Tallon and Yavaris, the much higher impact character squadrons do a lot more work. It's a blast to play...if you can remember all of the special rules.

Itself...that's only partially kidding, if the two fighter balls meet, the Ten Numbs will make it a bloodbath and you'll end up with a quartet of under powered frigates throwing rocks at each other.

Outside of that, a fleet with both a strong enough fighter contingent that would make leaving Gallant Haven problematic and strong enough long range firepower to be a serious threat at red distance would be an issue as you basically have to pick and choose what your comfortable sucking at. The fighters do have to not be dependent on interlocking buffs (YT-24s are the perfect choice) or Ten Numb will just take one for the team and crash the party leaving the rest of the squadrons to clean house against ships.

Trying to aggressively push your fighters through Red Squadron actively doesn't work.

I worry about a lack of Intel. You have powerful squadrons backed up by support upgrades to make them even more nasty (Tallon & Yavaris). But the enemy could stil tie them up for a crucial turn while he chews on your 2 big (but not that big) ships.

I would swap Keyan for Jan.

Intel just didn't work. Killing enemy squadrons faster ala multiple activations via Wedge and Ten Numb etc was far better. The problem I kept running into with Intel was that it let you bypass enemy squadrons for roughly a turn, but frequently cost you so much damage that you lost the squadron fight. Front-loading the damage to finish off their squadrons quickly was far more effective because it netted you the squadron points and still gave you the ship edge. It's also noteworthy that it's way harder to tie up the squadrons than it looks. Simply moving squadrons up early in the term invites a Wedge genocide and because the fleet specializes in getting a lot of power out of handful of squadrons you basically have to tie up everything.

Nice. I play against a very similar beast on the regular (@Brikhause's variant is quite a bit leaner, and thus able to afford a fifth BCC flotilla, but pretty much all the essential elements are the same), and it is a consistent terror to face.

Yes. I consistently table it. It's definitely a hair-raising affair, though.

By taking the AF-II A, you've made yourself pay 14 points just to get the same ship with one more blue die in the front arc. The 2 blue flak really isn't justified because of how much anti fighter you already have. That's 14 points you can spend elsewhere for more effect. Taking ECM will help to keep gallant Haven around, which is huge for your list

I'm aware, in practice the ECMs did little, but the extra flank was increadibly useful for picking off limping squadrons. Basically I had a choice as to where to burn points and Gallant Haven was far too frequently getting crushed or not being touched whereas there were often squadrons milling around that I didn't want to devote whole activations finishing off. The extra blue in the front has also been at least mildly useful.

Much like Dutch, it's there because it was having an impact whereas the alternatives didn't and not necessarily because it's massively important.

it's actually a Yavaris list, but Gallant Haven was getting jealous.

So after continued playtesting (and reflagging the list as The Magnificent Seven), pretty happy with it.

I'm probably dropping the AF to a B and removing Raymus from Yavarris for another comma net GR, mostly to split up the list's points more and make them less accessible. Also throwing Leia on the spare GR as insurance against the crit that lets your opponent pick a new command which would be a major problem for Yavarris and a way to fix Gallant's command dial on the fly.

You sound annoyed about how that second game I got within inches (well, an entire Assault Frigate) of tabling you. That will also help deal with Slicer Tools flotillas. In other news, expect a counter list CNinja and I have been developing to hit a table near you soon.
