More Pre-Order Cancellations
Same thing happened to MM. FFG said they had fixed supply, they were wrong. No surprises here for us pessimists, but I'm sure the white knight defenders are pissed. Oh well, maybe they'll run another printing after this one sells out. I really don't want scalpers to ruin this game, but with people trying to sell Sabine promos for $1,000 on Ebay, I guess it's inevitable.

Edited by dpb1298Your title is click bait and frankly untrue. I don't see anywhere in your letter anything about 'cancellation' of orders, except where it says you may choose to cancel or reduce your order if you wish. You'll get your product, you will just have to wait for some of it until the next waves. It was announced a LONG time ago that the shipment of this product was going to be split into multiple waves, so I don't really see any news here. What your letter does NOT say is that anyone who preordered will NOT get product, nor that they will have no product left AFTER all preorders are filled, so again, nothing to see here.
1 of my local game stores ordered 40 boxes and aren't receiving any boxes. Xindell is right though, that is outside the norm. Mostly everyone who preordered will get some of what they ordered. The game is fine.
My local store is getting 18 boxes, a fraction of what they ordered, but a little more than what they received of Awakenings in all 4 waves.
While still not good enough, it is already better than the 1st set for my lgs. I am curious to see what wave 2 brings and when it arrives.

I might be wrong but i think only 5 cards were give out in total? If its true i think the price is reasonable enough.
Please note, people are preordering a lot more boxes this time around than they did back in November. In fact, one could say they are over ordering in hopes half their order gets filled and therefore they get what they actually wanted. I preordered 5 boxes myself and umm, it seems I will be getting all 5. I may have to cancel one of my preorders because they all come through.

The card has a regular back, not a promo one like Kylo / Rey form Gencon, or Krennic / Jyn from Celebration. I'd wager that Sabine will make her way into a quarterly kit... but who knows.
I pre-ordered 2 boxes from one store and will pick up 1 or 2 more from another store the same day. I shouldn't have any problems getting my orders filled. For me it will all be about how much I want to buy day one. There is a part of me that likes going to the store to buy one or two boosters a visit
Patience seems to be a virtue when dealing with this game. We'll have to wait and see what happens in the subsequent waves of SoR.
Sabine looks pretty cool, but nit at $1000. Not even at a tenth of that. I also think we may see that card in a quarterly kit eventually. I'm even thinking that Jyn and Krennic will too, perhaps with a regular card back.

Are you the seller
how ffg is handling this game is awful how the white knights defend it is unexplained.
First off the wave distribution is a stupid idea in the first place
second the first wave should been big enough to cover all preoders I mean the point of preorders is to make sure you get product on day one not months after the release date.
third if there going to do waves the first wave should be the biggest wave
The white knight defense is easily explained. We as a whole community were given information. A group from that community have absorbed said information. That same group is now waiting as that information unfolds as it was explained that it would.
Another group received same information. It entered the area that information was directed. Those people then took it upon themselves to reinterpret that information and are not satisfied that it didn't go how they imagined it would.
So call me a white knight for listening and waiting and I will gladly wear that title. But when I call you chicken little because the sky hasn't hit me in the head yet. You best polish up your title and wear it right along side me.
Could we not turn this into another giant ***** fest?

what they said does not matter until they act on it, the email is evidence enough to warrant thought that it will be the same way again.

My FLGS did not receive any such notification. Maybe because his order was modest or real. Maybe they are going for the fair distribution of product. I am not worried to get all I want (which is a modest 2 boxes)
FFG told us waves. This is the first wave of the new set that they said they printed way more of. Give it some time. If after wave 2 or 3 there's still an issue then it's probably a cause for concern. I just wish we knew how many waves there were going to be. As of now though, I'm not too worried.
Also, MM ordered 9000 boxes! I doubt they actually expected to get 9000 boxes, then they sent out the fear mongering email to their customers as way to explain that they over sold pre-orders once again...
Potomac is handling the situation much better.
Well if FFG follows suit this will all be worked out in 2018, LOL. In the meantime this is going to be an expensive year for determined SWD players and a dry one for casual players. I am already over $300 in on my small stack of cards purchased through third party resellers as singles.
24% on the first wave of distribution sounds pretty good to me.

Pretty much, my usual store has my pre order box and I like grabbing packs every time I pop in for a game night. It probably cost me more money in the long run, but I enjoy the thrill of opening new packs, If I ever actually had the full collection I would probably be very very sad.
Well sad until Empire at War comes out. There is a reason they are pumping these out every 4 months (or so).
MM or any online retailer has no business receiving 9000 boxes. Those boxes are suppose to go to local game stores.

Actually, that makes me wonder how big the print run is. What if at the end of the day there are enough boxes for MM to get 9000 and local shops still get theirs.
Remember, all we know is Awakenings had a shortage. We have no idea how many boxes were manufactured and sold.

First you say "didn't you see the post in the other thread" now I am a stalker lol. Your stupidity stands out.

Why is that? They're a retailer like any others, who operate at volume. The boxes aren't "suppose" to be going anywhere specific. They pay FFG and/or distributors for their product just like anyone else, and they sell it just like anyone else. I might as well argue that the other 5 shops in my area shouldn't get anything, because my preferred store deserves them all.
I much prefer buying from my local store whenever possible, but people need to get over these ham-handed attempts to strangle online sellers. Online sales are changing the way pretty much every product is sold, and the sooner people get over this idiotic protectionist attitude and figure out how to provide actual value within the brick-and-mortar stores the better off the entire industry will be.
And just for the record, I'm not a fan of MM either, but it has to do with cracking product to profit off singles rather than actually selling the product. This isn't unique or limited to online retailers, as I know a number of B&M shops that have done the same.
