Count of the mini cards? (Upgrades/crew/etc...)

By Cubanboy, in X-Wing

I am trying to figure out a better storage solution for the mini cards, does anyone have a count of how many of each type of small cards there currently are for x-wing?

I think I am just going to buy a bunch of the 16 pocket mini pages and throw them in a binder.

I don't have a hard count but there is a crap load of them. I've been using the small folios that hold 360 cards. There are three that I use. One for all crew and EPT cards, one for mechs and secondary weapons and the last for titles, tech, system upgrades and anything else that gets released.

I have a zippered binder that holds the pilot cards and ship's bases. The bases fit nicely, two to a pocket, in the sleeves made for cigarette cards.

The folios will fit in the top of the Plano tackle box or below if I'm not carrying a full load of boxes.

It's a chore to move the whole collection and I'm trying to locate a travel container that will hold ix builds, two from each faction.

There is 298 different small upgrade cards. I keep mine in the 16 pocket pages and use 25 of them. Each category has seperate pages.

I bought 1/2" binders from staples and use bcw 16 pocket pages: red, black and cleanish for the 3 factions and blue for non-faction upgrades. Faction upgrades are behind the pilot cards. Hope this helps.

cleanish, and did the same as Farm Boy.

Clear

I do the same, very simple and effective. Easy to expand with each new wave as well.

I have mine in 16 pocket pages as well. I've left a few gaps for additions. With those and the pilot cards that is one really thick binder. I keep them all but argh, what a royal pain. The cards alone is the main reason for using a printout from a squad builder. But I still have the cards

This is the pocket page you're looking for.

  • Double-sided FTW.
  • And side-loading, so your C3-PO doesn't go slipping away.

I used to do binders with Magic, but quickly learned to HATE them when you get lots of upgrades and have to reorganize the whole dang thing. I don't like them for X-wing.

I've gotten the Broken Token Mini-American Card Case. It's awesome! I highly recommend it.

I started with binders. Every time I get new ships I have to reorganize. I have decided boxes would be better.

I'll admit it does look nice but I like the idea of browsing the book and it's more portable. I too don't like the idea of rearranging, but for the convenience of viewing it's worth it to me. And with my OCD I really don't mind :D . The main issue I have with the binder is that it is over full and very tight.

I usually use an app to brows cards and then just need to find them. I took out the wooden separators and use Sir Willis' separators that he has in his self made container. I like it because it separates them into different types of items. Not only that, but for something like Crew, it has generics, and then separators for each Faction for their specific ones. Or, for EPTs, it has them for point cost. So, it makes it easier to find.

The box also takes up less room and is about the same size as one of those older cardboard boxes that they gave out as prizes.

I just wish there was one for pilots.

I have to second heychadwick. I have the same boxes and they are fantastic. I use an app to decide what cards to use, but you can still browse through the cards in the box very quickly. Just have them separated by upgrade type. You can grab a stack and shuffle through them very quickly that way, and even set aside cards you're considering more easily than fishing them out of a binder.

If you have a large collection of ships, though, you might need two of the boxes. I'm about to order a second one.

Yeah my collection is fairly large. The ships just kept multiplying, I'm not sure where I got them all from. LOL

I have quite a large number of ships, but I still have them in one. I did have to remove their wooden separators, though.

Oh, it's Ken.....yeah, he's got a bigger collection!

Don't tell my wife, I keep telling her I haven't spent that much compared to others. :o Only kidding, she's the one that encouraged me to get what I have. :D
