Kylo Ren and TIE Advanced

By Shadow345, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Starkiller Base Pilot - Kylo Ren, Gunner, Fire-Control System - 40 Pts

Darth Vader - TIE/x1, Advanced Targeting Computer, Engine Upgrade, Expertise - 38 Pts

Tempest Squadron Pilot - TIE/x1, Advanced Targeting Computer - 22 Pts

Basic idea, use the TIE Advanced Targeting Computers to get your critical hits for I'll Show You The Dark Side.

Anyone try this?

I thought RAC was the Kylo default?

People tend to use both. RAC is a big target with not many defenses, and so if people want a slightly dodgier Kylo build, they usually use the Tie Advanced.

Using the Tie Advanced also splits the threat pretty efficiently, giving you three ships that are all kinda decent in the end game. If you switch Expertise for Adaptability for example, you can upgrade your Tempest Squadron Pilots to a named ace (say, Lieutenant Colzet, then gives Vader Lone Wolf). Your enemy hasn't known pain until they get stuck with a Blinded Pilot from Vader, and then Colzet turns it facr up again at the end of the combat phase.

By spreading out the points, you also enable more tricks, and more targets, splitting the enemy's priorities.

Phone, it's for you. Something bout setting a court date with the devil accusing you of identity theft?

Something like this? Targeting Synchronizer would let Colzet spend Kylo's TL, yes?

TIE Advanced: · Darth Vader (29)
· Lone Wolf (2)
TIE/x1 (0)
Advanced Targeting Computer (1)

TIE Advanced: · Lieutenant Colzet (23)
TIE/x1 (0)
Advanced Targeting Computer (1)

Upsilon-class Shuttle: Starkiller Base Pilot (30)
Fire Control System (2)
· Kylo Ren (3)
Gunner (5)
Targeting Synchronizer (3)
-- TOTAL ------- 99p. --

Alright, I took the bait, flush this out.....looks like I might need to purchase a Upsilon if this looks like it's looking.

i know a tested build is an Upsilon with Backdraft and Omega Leader. Seems like Vessery would also be a good fit, if he's not too pricey.
