I've never paid attention to the thing much so today I'm trying to see what they are.

R4 is super solid. Add Boba if you're using proton torps.
basic build is atanni mind link, r4, guidance chips, plasma torpedoes, extra munitions
plasma can be upgraded to proton alongside boba crew. Extra munitions can be dropped for points depending on the build.

"Torpedo boat" to me is a scum release that is an epic playtesting fail... at points, EPTs, FAQ corrections, dials, pilot abilities, you name it.
Horton, plasma or proton torps, EM, Chimps. Throw in ept droid and expertise/VI/deadeye/ptl or targeting mech for TLs after those 4 straights or wide turns.
Now that is a torpedo boat. Drea does a good job too.

I have fought against a list that had 1 plasma variant and 1 protorp+Boba as well as Mindlinked Fenn as the third ship. My goodness it was brutal. I was flying Miranda, Stressmule and Biggs and even with decent flying I barely made a dent.
This is the version I run now with a standard 32 point Attanni Fenn Rau. If I think I need a bid I may drop Boba and Protons to Plasmas, or just drop an Extra Munitions.
