Character Creation Suggestions Wanted

By santange11, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

Hello,

After a falling out, my group is getting ready to start a new campaign. I have a solid idea of what type of character I want to play. It is a Gank hired gun heavy who will move into the bounty hunter gadgeteer tree. The idea is he is a stubborn and intimidating person who coerces people and wants to eventually use a gunnery based gun as his primary. The point of gadgeteer to in help with coercion among other things. The question I have is what do you guys think I should do with my last skill point. Currently I am at brawn 2, agility 3, intellect 2, cunning 2, willpower 3, presence 1. I was thinking one into agility for better chances of auto-fire, but possible brawn for soak and help with the bigger guns down the road.

I understand a lot of character creation and skills is relative to preferred play style and how the campaign will be run. I am just curious what other would do and why. Thank you guys.

Brawn is useful, but with 3 ranks of Burly and a weapon harness your 2 Brawn is enough. Intellect (Medicine, Warefare and eventually Mechanics) and Cunning (Perception and Survival) both have career skill uses for your character so raising one of those to 3 could be a very useful option which provides breadth to your character. The Cunning option also makes you above average at Streetwise, Stealth and Deception which gives versatility outside of your specific wheelhouse.

My choice would be Intellect 3, but I like playing brain characters and enjoy finding uses for knowledge skills. Cunning may be more up your alley. Either way I would certainly recommend choosing one to increase.

Edit: Brawn, Agility and Intellect can all be raised with Cybernetics, you are a Gank after all

Just be prepared for the following conversation . . .

"Hey, I know you wear that mask and all to look intimidating and threatening, but you're among friends now. You can go ahead and loosen up. Relax and take that off . .

"Gah! Wait? What? By the light no! Put it on! PUT IT BACK ON!

"Sorry! I had no idea that your mask actually makes you look more friendly and approachable." <whew>
