Just use Flight Commander to ensure the positioning of squadrons within the GH bubble. Combo with Biggs for more annoyance.

I considered it, but since I need to get the squads at range 1 of GH, I end up overlapping them after I move. 8 squads is a lot to manage in a small bubble, and for the list to work efficiently, I need the X-Wings to have Jan and GH to drop 4 damage to 1 so the non-escort squads can do their business.

I'm one of the few people that hates Biggs. He doesn't reduce damage so I don't see a use for him. I'd rather have 1 X-Wing take all the attacks than distribute the damage all over the place so they all die at the same time. Reducing damage to 0 or 1 is more than enough for me. Plus Biggs costs extra.

What Biggs does is provide a mini-Rieekan ability, cheaper.

With Biggs around, I cannot kill off non-activated squadrons before they shoot me. When Biggs is missing, it's far easier to just pick off 2-3 X-Wing squadrons before they get a chance to shoot me.

Not with Jan bracing and Gallent Haven reducing damage. At most, you can deal 2 damage if you roll 5-6 hits. Biggs isn't needed in that list.

Again to reiterate: the main issue most of us have with Gallant Haven is the problem of literal positioning. ITs so **** hard to keep everything in the bubble without overlapping the squadrons so that your opponent can reposition/engage them to his benefit.

This IS the main crux of the issue with Gallant Haven, and I would like people to talk about it. Its really not easy.

I had a similar interesting situation with Biggs like that too. When I took some mass squadrons vs a Biggs ball, sure they outlasted my squadrons but they suddenly the entire enemy ball just keeled over.

I have found 2 things that help GH big time:

  1. Trail GH with a ship that has FCTs. They can help keep squadrons in the GH bubble.
  2. Don't even try to keep the squadrons all in the bubble for more than 2-3 turns. It's not worth the trouble. GH can have a massive benefit in a short amount of time. You don't need its benefit for the whole game. Just one or two turns early in the squadron fight is easily enough to tip the squadron fight in your favor.

Acms with xi7 work surprisingly well. Sadly you don't get use it much

I would love an AAR on this. If anyone has one.
