Kel's Painting A-go-go...updated archers.

By keltheos, in Runewars Painting and Modeling

Figured I'd drop pix as I go in here as well. Still debating color schemes for the uniforms, but the basics will be the same. Just A start for tonight, will add as I go. Debating on the color schemes for uniforms for everyone, got the armor figured out for the undead already.

I know I should do better on a few of the mold lines. But, honestly, I don't have that many hours to invest in getting the rank and file guys perfect when the lines are fairly minor. Also, I firmly believe that if the miniatures gods wanted us to have mold line free models they would have done a better job with the castings. It's developed over 20+ years of cleaning models, I just can't be bothered when it's fairly minor and won't ruin the overall look of a model.

If it's on your phone you can post it direct in 1 click if it's small file size. If not, post it on imgur. Copy the link and paste it in the box when you click insert other media from URL

Yeah, too big a size for one click even after a couple different attempts to reduce. I don't have an Imgur account, waited until I could get them on my Wordpress page and just linked to there. Lesson learned. :D

Have you looked at the different color schemes in the army painter guide? some of those look pretty good, kinda wishing I had not gone standard waiqar theme but then again...I like my purple cloaks!

yeah, that got me thinking. I don't really want purple, have painted a ton of green on other models, kinda want red for my Daqan...torn. :D Would love to know what the 'color theme' for the Barony's armies were before Waiqar went bony. Some sort of dirty yellow/ochre may offset the rusty armor look...hmmm...

Also, you know for some reason I can't see your username without reading 'jerk' (which you're not) every time. :D

If you are keeping the Daqan, then you could always paint them both the same general colors and just make the waiqar look like an old and decrepit just dug up after 200 years version of your shiny clean daqan

hmmm...

Looking good man. And I'm 10000% with you on mold lines. I clean my hqs and heavys real well and try to get the bad ones on cav and rank and file but I won't spend too much time on those cause it just kills my motivation otherwise lol

I'm saving purple, my favourite colour, for Uthuk, my favourite faction. Heck, I might even go bright pink for them!

I'm having a hard time looking at the Daqan models and not painting them in Warmachine Menoth colors. **** it all. Not again!

I think I will trying painting the Waiqar first.

I think I've settled on the colors. Nothing fancy, red white and gold for D and dirty yellow and black for W. Blocked out some colors this eve. Need more coats.

Looks good. I dig the dirty yellow look of the Reanimates.

Busy week plus, so not much painting time. Did do some detail work on the samples so now I know the scheme. Blocked most colors on the archers while finishing the test models. Changed to a light layer of white primer over the gray, helped with coverage immensely.

Are these finished?

Nom nom nom... Want pix!

Still not finished. Life got in the way pretty much starting early May until now. I just started working on them again. :(
