What character are you hoping is in the core set?

Where has it been stated that Satsume is dead? Granted they may be mucking around with the canon, but if this is pre-Coup he's still very much alive. He outlived Arasou.

I don't know if it has been stated if he's dead, but the story tidbit about the Crane seem to suggest that he's deceased.

I think we all know the one guy that really deserves to have a reprint if only because of his RAW POWER, and that man is Kolat Servant.

That was why I added Kage, so we can lay the groundwork for the Kolat invasion.

Is there an online archive of all the fiction somewhere? I have the Clan War novels but there's so much I don't know story wise beyond that.

But back to the topic, it wouldn't feel like Rokugan to me without its resident explosives master, Alhundro Cornejo .

The time line has been reset to just before the Clan Wars started. You may want to hold off reading the fiction until FF starts releasing new stuff.

I know. I'd just like to read the old the stories for fun. I never followed the story outside of the timeline I played so there were always tons of references to characters or events that went over my head. Might as well read them now that the original timeline is kaput :D

There are the Clan War paperbacks. I still re-read the First Scroll, which details the Scorpion Clan Coup from the clan's perspective, from time to time. There's seven in the series and each is a particular clan. If I remember the order is Scorpion, Unicorn, Crane, Phoenix, Crab, Dragon, and then Lion.

The Answer is Matsu Gohei.

Yup! I've got those on my shelf but haven't read them in a few years. From what I remember the Scorpion book was my favorite as it seemed the best written/edited. I've been dragging my butt picking up the Gold/Diamond edition novels, though. I've heard some less than positive things about them.

So I've just realized that the decision to use generic names for most basic personalities reduces the number of characters we will be seeing as cards from the get-go. Here's hoping the expansions include a lot of named character cards.

The Scorpion Clan Wars novel was the best of the set, imho.

Dinasty packs would seem better place for uniques? Havig set rotation in mind as well as story progression, it would fit better. That being said, we will surely get a few in each for sure.

I wonder if they will still keep her club footed?

For that matter, I wonder if any of the others will keep their infirmities (particularly Shoju, who I believe was both ugly and had at least a partially crippled arm, if I remember)

Ujimitsu
Tadaka
(Oni no Tadaka)
Tsukune
Kaede

Uji
Kisada
Hoturi
Toshimoko
Kage
Shoju
Kamoko
Yakamo +Oni

For Shizue, I think (but not sure as I had difficulties understanding that part of the discussion as a non-native english speaker) that one of the guy from the Team Covenant discussion "Is L5R the next big game" (not the design team interview) talked about an anecdote about her in a game (at 37'05).

I think I heard him talked about the "greatest storyteller" with what seemed to be a description of her power (suppressing other characters fate tokens which would be very fitting with her storyteller job I think). If somebody with a better understanding than me can confirm or refute this, I'd be glad for his help.

I just had a thought!
