Nope, just take issue when someone tells me I'm not allowed to express an opinion. I'll post whatever I like within posting guidelines and anyone who doesn't like it can get in line.

I'm sorry that you took my comment that way. It's not the message I intended. My intent was that telling someone that they can't do something or that there's no reason something should be allowed is counter to a constructive argument. It's invalidating anyone elses ideas and opinions. Had you phrased your comments that didn't like the idea or even you didn't think there was any reason for it, then it would have been different. But you came out stating that there was no reason to ever allow it. A point that I countered with several valid examples and scenarios.

My apologies if my comment came off in this manner - I wouldn't challenge your right to say whatever you want. Your reply conveyed the impression of a dogmatic approach to me and of course engendered a discussion.
Frankly, I agree with the pirate-droid dude here. Roll at the end of the session, everyone sees that you got 2 triumphs, 3 success, and 8 advantage. Awesome. Then you spend the weekend going over your books and options and decide what you want to do with it. Don't have to worry about cheating (and everyone cheats, if you aren't cheating, you aren't caring), you don't have to worry about table-time waste, cause the roll itself takes moments, and you don't have to worry about role-playing it out, because I have literally never seen a crafting scene play out at the table in a way enjoyable to anyone but the crafter.
I think we all agree that the decide-what-the-craft-rolls-meant part is an unpleasant thing to do at the table, if only because it takes a lot of time that could be spend killing Hutt lackeys. Personally, I don't trust any of the online dice rollers because I don't care enough to take the time to understand them well enough to trust that I'm catching loopholes. Rolling at the table is easy enough. For that matter, lots of our encounters tend to sideline one or two players - the sidelined guys tend to spend their time flipping through books while waiting for the space combat stuff to wrap up (or the charm/deception stuff, or the explody blaster stuff, depending on the character)(Yeah, somehow we managed to have 2 people who are worthless in combat, 2 more who are worthless in space combat, and 2 who are worthless in social situations).
If a player comes to me and says 'I want to roll at home, here's this great new app/website/chastity belt that will keep me trustworthy', I'm gonna tell them to just roll at the table. I don't need more complications to my gaming experience. I suppose if everyone involved is ok with yet another thingy to be part of the game, then that's fine. It still feels like a solution to a non-problem.

This would appear to be the correct answer. Great that everyone has opinions on how they'd do it, and great that there are a number of options for everyone to do it how they like.
