Ground battles game for Star wars ??

By phorcys12, in X-Wing

Hello ^^ then first of all, I am french, so it is possible that I will not be fully comprehensible.
And I wanted to put back on the carpet the idea of a new game format, or a new game, for ground combat. Why new game ?? Because I think you cannot do it with the X-wing ships scale.

Indeed, if we expect above all to be able to play the AT-AT, vehicles of this size are quite rare and I see no equivalent among the rebels, so I think the heart of this new game will be troops at Ground, of a size similar to the troopers of star wars: rebellion, and speeders / small walkers. The AT-AT would be more epic, like the rebellious transport, and the atmospheric ships fought a scale closer to the Arc-170 or higher.

I think something like that : - core box Hoth: - rebels: 1 snowspeeder, 3 squadron of hoth soldier, 2 soldier on tauntaun and a general
- Imperial: 1 TS-TT, 3 snowtrooper squad, 2 E-web, and Veers.
Or, if you wants to include from the origin Neutral characters, or scum, I can think of a core box Endor : - rebels: 3 rebels squad, Han, leia, C-3PO, R2-D2, Luke Scum: 2 Ewok warriors squad, 2 gliders
Empire: 3 trooper scout squad, 2 troopers on motorcycle, 1 TS-TT
The waves would consist of:- squad box (15 troops solider)
-Hero's box (given the limited scale for the characters, one can hardly make packs with heroes to unity, so things like:

Yavin IV hero's box: Leia, dodonna, 2 generic generals, C-3PO
Death star pack: Darth Vader, Tarkin, 2 officers, needa.
Cantina's pack: Evazan, Ponda Baba, Greedo, 2 hired guns )
- Special unit pack: 3 or 4 figures depending on size, with things like E-Web, sniper, Wampa, Deeback trooper (I hesitate to put it in the category or the following)
- Unity pack: TS-TT, Landspeeder, painted figurines. Atmospheric ship, vehicles.

What do you think of all this ?? It could go out ?? Would you change things ?? And I have found a game which seems like what I think , Halo : Ground command , and who is itself derived from a ship game .

What you are describing is very similar to Wizards of the Coast's Star Wars Miniatures. It has been out of production for a few years. Imperial Assault may satisfy you.

There is a fan made game based on the Battle of Hoth model set from the 80's or 90's. I can't quite remember what it's called.
