Hi, I am looking for a group to be able to play Edge of the Empire online. I have the board game but I cant find people interested in playing this in my city.
looking for group to play Edge of the Empire
I'm in the same boat as you, I'd keep an eye on roll20 if I were you.
As an Australian all the games seem to be at 7am on a workday or Sunday, which is also taken up.
There are games hosted here that have openings. If you're interested in any of the games, please register on that site and post in whichever game's OOC thread to ask questions or express a desire to join in. Most of the games have multiple openings, and some of the games permit (and encourage) multiple characters per player. If I can get enough players (3+ more), I can also start a fresh game.
I run a roll20 game every saturday at 8pm EST and I have seats open at my table. It is an Imperial campaign at the moment, set during the creation of the ISB and death star, the PC's have been given reason to doubt the Empire, so it's set to go full edge of the empire soon.
I can work in any character and race archetype, as the "Leader" of the group is a clone veteran who mostly missed order 66 and has always enjoyed the company of aliens.
I have also just started using voice modulation and soundboards which my players love, (I use them rather sparsely and only after spending about an hour working on the voice mods, and 20 minutes or so tweaking the SFX)
That said, you should know, the main reason I have open seats in this party is the other players are super flaky and cancel often. Aaaand one of them is my younger brother (he is 12, this is his first TTRPG, but he's used to things such as swearing and he tries very hard to make sure he doesn't annoy people. He's also getting pretty good at RPing.)
Edited by XenophyterI am also looking for a game to join if anyone has any openings. I recently picked up all three core rulebooks and would eventually like to gm. Just looking to play first though and get a better grasp on how it is played.
My games (I have several ongoing) on this external site have openings. Drop by, register on the board, and feel free to lurk. If you see a game that you'd like to join, post your interest in that game's OOC topic. Three of my games are currently inactive due to a lack of players. If I can get enough players (at least 3 each) I can resume or restart them. My other two games are very much alive, but in need of more players (2 active players in each, with openings for up to 4 more).
Are you opening up After the Fall? I want to try a forum based F&D game. I havent played with force yet and really want to.

Yes, I will restart After the Fall if I can get enough players to commit. There's a very good chance that Jedi Ronin, who's still on that forum (playing in my Strike Force Isk AoR game), will be willing to take a slot. Which means we'd need at least 2 more players besides you and JR.
BTW, please post any further questions you may have for me about that game in AtF's OOC thread.
I tried to first, but there is no button to click reply. I can reply to the From the Ashes OOC, but not the After the Fall OOC
Sorry about that. Must be a user class permission oversight. I'll fix that in a few minutes. Thanks for mentioning it!
No problem!
User permissions for class "Registered Users" has been fixed, for all games.
I would be interested. I'm pretty new to PbP, but I'm having a lot of fun in the one game that I'm in.
Love to have you. I have several games with openings that need filling, not just After the Fall . Please go to the site, register, and look around.
Just a suggestion, maybe you should do a periodic recruiting post here, with a brief summary of the different games, for some people registering and looking around before the know if thet are even interested in any of the themes and designs might keep potential players from joining... Just a thought...
Edited by TheShardI have several recruiting topics , both in this forum and in AoR's, and those topics have game summaries in them. I periodically apply thread necromancy on all of them.
- Trial By Fire is an EotE game that went kaput midway through Long Arm of the Hutt.
- Strike Force Isk is an AoR game, currently in progress, with the PCs in Act II of Onslaught at Arda I having recently arrived on Jagomir and gone into the jungle to explore. The game currently has just two players, so there's room for up to 4 more.
- After the Fall is a FaD/EotE Infinity set shortly after the end of the Clone Wars. There are many changes to the events surrounding that end. The first post in the game's OOC thread highlights the most notable ones (as does the topic I posted on FFG's board when I did initial recruiting for the game). Mattimeo84 has committed to play (and already submitted a character concept). Jedi Ronin is interested, but unsure if he'll have the time. That leaves 4-5 openings.
- Far Orbit Project is an EotE/AoR conversion of the old WEG (d6) SWRPG adventure. The players control up to 3 PCs each (one apiece from the categories of command officers, fighter pilots, and troopers) aboard an Imperial Nebulon-B frigate that has mutinied and become a privateer for the Rebel Alliance. The game currently has just two players, with room for many more players.
- From the Ashes is a game in development wherein the players take on the roles of an Imperial Moff or Admiral, and his or her most senior advisors/officers, in the period immediately after the death of Emperor Palpatine at Endor. The players will initially have control over a small Imperial 'fleet' comprised of an Imperial II -class star destroyer, an Interdictor -class cruiser, and a Gladiator II -class star destroyer, plus several squadrons of TIE/INs and TIE/SAs, an assortment of shuttles of various types, and all of the stormtroopers and walkers the ships normally carry. Their first task will be to seize control of one (or more) worlds and establish a base of power. The game is about empire-building. Players will be free to control and expand their rump Empire as they see fit, fending off threats from other rival Imperial factions and the nascent New Republic. Most of the game functions at an operational scale, with play taking place at the tactical (personal) scale only when necessary to resolve small-scale issues (for example, social interactions that do not involve mass audiences). RichardBuxton has committed to play in this.
The above-listed PbP games are just those that I run. There are other games by other GMs on the site.
Update: my After the Fall game now has 3 of the 4 available Jedi positions claimed. There are 3 open slots left in the game (one for a Jedi and 2 for non-Jedi).
