Hammerhead ship cards

By Green Knight, in Star Wars: Armada

Maybe this has been asked before, but say I want to field two of the same ship type; do I need TWO packs of Hammerheads?

It would seem so, as the box has 2 ships and 2 ship cards (presumably 1 of each type).

Brace for impact with the Hammerhead Corvettes Expansion Pack for Star Wars ™: Armada! Named for its distinctive silhouette, the Hammerhead corvette is officially classed as a transport, but features combat-worthy engines, hull, and armament. Often fielded in groups by the Rebellion, Hammerheads lend themselves to formation tactics with their agility and responsiveness. You’ll be able to explore some of these formation tactics with the expansion’s two pre-painted Hammerhead miniatures, and you’ll find them supported by two ship cards, as well as a full complement of fourteen upgrade cards heavily focused on close-range combat!

No, there are 2 of each generic title

The image looked like it had 4 cards, 2 of each type.

Hmmm I didn't think of that may have to wait until the in depth article to be sure but possibly.

If you looked at the "repeated" cards turned face down, there are 5 (2 titles, External racks, Boarding engineers and Quad Battery Turrets)

You're right!

Didn't study the picture too closely.

Relieved.

I already pre-ordered 2. At the very least, I'll have 2 ER. I hope it's duplicate upgrades and I end up with 4.

what are the stats again? or we don't know? looking at the pictures it looks like 2 shields to the front and 1 on the sides and rear, but the shield dial has a different number on the front.

2-1-1 with what looks like 5 for hull.

They often don't set the shield dials properly.

I'd love to see the dial on this thing. It looks like the Rebel transport except a little more hull and an extra shield, but the transport was probably too maneuverable, so they may err on the side of caution and pull in the reigns on these guys a bit. These will definitely vie for activations with the transports, because I think they're going to keep them cheap and under 30pts easy.

I would imagine these will be a smig cheaper than a CR90s but not by much maybe 35 -40 points. I can't see them being close to as cheap as a gozantis.

I find it mildly amusing that all Rebel ships post Ackbar have to be very careful about their red side arc dice, as is evident in (lack of red dice) for both the Rebel flotillas and these Hammerheads. :)

Super frustating. Imperial cryers did their job hell well.

Hear ye, hear ye, Admiral Ackbar is thus OP. He hath declared mine ships dead, and that be-eth unfaire!

They have less shields but more hull probably a worse movement track, less dice I think we could see the low thirties

Heer ye, heer ye, Ackbar whose pretention at being an admiral hath made foul declaration that the goode ships in service to our emporer are struck down by devilish sorcery!

I mean, if we're doing ye olde speak at least make it consistent throughout the prose.

Cant see how it even hasnt a brace token. What was the captian of the Lightbringer said just before ramming that ISD? Hmmm, so unthematic.

Prehaps thats the lightbringer title.... before round 1 this ship gains 1 brace token

Heed not the Ackbar

Who scream "Revolution!"

He has not your interest at heart

Chaos and red dice are not a solution

Don't let them lead you astray...

These Rebels do not speak for me.

They're playing a flotilla based game.

I pray Palp'tine shows you his mercy.

For shame, for shame....

Well, seeing that brace doesn't help when ramming...

"Corvette Five, Locked on Target..."

" Prepare for Impact."

(impacting doth occur)

"Sublight Thrusters... Full Power! "

.... The word "Brace" isn't mentioned at all.

I am not a native English speaker, but is brace for impact and prepare for impact not synonymous?

Vaguely yes, but because they didnt say Brace, that's justification enough to not include the token.

Because you say so.

Edit: Vaguely.

It's for play balance reasons. I have a hard time imagining a captain not telling his men to brace for impact when something is about to hit his ship because "we don't have one of those defense tokens." Defense tokens are an abstraction, basically, and I wouldn't get hung up over it.
