Those guys are awesome. So is the rune golem, from this distance anyway.
That is an excellent and very effective choice for a fast-painting force that's going to look great on the table. I would never have thought of black with orange accents, but it's really cool.
I like 'em. The paint scheme makes them look brutal.

Hahaha, that's just the primer with partial painting. Thanks though.

Orange and grey are my favorite colors, so I wanted them painted as such. I used pueblo (dark orange), pavement (dark blue-grey), and spiced berry (dark red) from Apple Barrel brand, and Adminstrative Grey and Earthshade Wash from Citadel.

It's pueblo from Apple Barrel. A dark orange, essentially. Then earthshade wash on top. And thanks!

That makes me feel LOADS better. I just spent $30 of paints and supplies at Jo-Ann, picking up a wide assortment of Apple Barrel colors. I'd used them before for Imperial Assault, but everybody seems to be using fancy paints, and I started to worry that I made a mistake. Glad to see your Apple Barrel colors looking so fantastic! (I still need to pick up a good wash).
Nuln Oil works for 95% of everything. Buy a couple of bottles! Agrax Earthshade is the next closest in usage. Both Citadel.
My apologies did t see it in the thread already, looks good. Orange colour scheme on the rune golem would be cool as well.

Dude, Nuln Oil was what I had before I moved! Nice to know I am on the right track! I'll pick up another bottle next time I'm at the game shop.
That orange looks awesome! (Orange is my favorite color. In high school, they used to call me "Orange Twin" and called @Parakitor "Blue Twin" since we wore matching clothes with our respective colors.)
That's the colour scheme I'm going for, however, as I'm away for a few months on a training course I'm going to be late into the game. An idea for your Rune Golems may be to go for a dark rock colour. I've stolen this image from Bob Hammins on the Runewars UK Facebook group as an example.

Horray for Craft Paints!
I use almost nothing but craft paints. If your craft store has them, I highly recommend trying Delta Ceramcoat paints. I use a wide variety of brands (Folk Art, Americana, etc) but Delta consistently seems to have the best pigmentation and the smoothest application. Many of the colors are almost as good as the miniature-specific paint brands. Definitely worth the extra 25 cents per bottle.
Here's the work of friend of mine who gets amazing results using almost nothign but Americana brand.
He painted up an Escher Necromunda gang for me and it's one of my prized gaming posession.
Ah yes! Its filk art pueblo i use. Its the same company that makes apple barrel.

I haven't used Delta Ceramcoat paints, but I use the Delta Ceramcoat Matte Varnish to seal my miniatures.
I didn't know they had a matte varnish. I'll have to check it out. I've been using Winsor Newton Galeria Acrylic Matte Varnish to cut the shine on my figs which are almost all dipped.
