Tann-Prequel

By Toolian, in Tannhauser

Would anyone be interested in maps, and characters/troops that takes place before the current game (1949)?

Kind of like a prequel.

Well if i can ever figure out how to play this **** game solitare...Maybe! I think what you say would be kind of neat, perhaps going back to the earlier dig sites, or when Karl got wacked out by the entity or Ozo..Ozo. I think with the basic concept and the base storyline of this game, the possibilities are endless.

What can't you figure out concerning the rules?

Many people can help you out.

Well, I've done several bouts in death match, and that seemed straight forward enough. Then i thought i'd try to get into the story mode or something else, because in death match it just seemed too cut and dry, granted i'm still learning the game so i've inadvertantly omitted things; ie. different rules for hand to hand and then move, action , move. etc.

The book to me seems to be somewhat scattered about. I've read it front to back and visa-versa, but it seems to me something is missing. Maybe this game just isn't going to work out for a single player, as i hoped it would.

I would have to say a lot of my problem is i've been learning, and concentrating more on, TOI plus I just ordered another game i'm interested in, but i was hoping to get to like Tannhauser better before i start on it. I'm afraid if i don't, i may not come back off the shelf. llorando.gif

Young Von Heizinger ?

wish to see him younger

Well Tannhäuser is not a single player game at all. Right now it works best as a one-on-one game, and with some adjustment as a three player game.

If you want to play solo, you'll have to create rules to script the opposing faction actions...

thats right, it is no impossible to make solo rules (my idea is to make color dices that determine movement but this is just stupid idea - to easy and too much dependence on dice rolls) but it is a hard thing. Tannhauser is one on one game other various player number modifications, i played 3 Union Marines each for one player and 3 Obscura (each for one) and game was not bad. None less this is game typical for one on one. If someone want to make solo game rules i don't know if it helps but let take look to Deathwing Expansion for Space Hulk ( I thing) at automated Genestealer movement.
