By Goseki1, in Arkham Horror: The Card Game

Every card in this box was already leaked a while ago.

Cool for you. Some of us avoided leaked content and this is all new to us.

I only looked at the new investigators, I want the rest to remain a mystery.

I do expect there to be a lot of discussion about the leaked content now that it has been officially announced.

I am in love to Lola. She is so friek and mad!

Pretend to be surprised everybody.

Kind of a strange mechanic for those "secret cards in your hand. How is that going to stay secret around the table?

"Why don't you use that card for a free move?"

"I...I can't!"

I suspect people will have to be willing to roleplay it a bit. "I'll take care of this then you Pathfinder over to there..." "Sure, I can do that!" "Wait, why aren't you doing that??"

Not really much different from Peril, which I find people frequently ignore as well.

You'll obviously be able to tell when they have a "hidden" card as you'll see them put an encounter card in their hand, you just won't know what the effects are. When a peril card comes up, the guy I play with often talks it out as he's resolving it, I just feel it's my responsibility not to contribute ideas at that point.

Yeah not really sure how well the mechanic works, other than fellow players having to assume you have a hidden weakness you can't outright mention. So they can to try and work out what you have by what actions etc you aren't taking. It's quite neat actually I suppose.

There's also the "doubt" and "conviction" mechanics. Hmmmm.

I never followed the link when it popped up, so I am completely surprised, was totally unaware of any of the details. :)

I just looked at the box art. I don't even read the FFG official previews.

Lost Carcosa!!! Cool. Not as Lovecraftian as I would like, but its probably my favorite of "the other writers" items.

I think we're getting too many new investigators in each box. Three per would be fine.

You can always just shuffle them up, pick three blindly, and throw the rest away ;)

More seriously, I'm not sure how you can have too many choices. You're not forced to use them, it doesn't do anything to dilute the card pool otherwise... Why is this a problem?

They can have more campaigns before they run out of good ideas that way.

I value the investigations more than the investigators.

Arkham Horror had 50 investigators, I believe they added another 3 or 4 since then.

Anyhow, that's 10 expansions in total, 7 left. At two expansions a year, that's another 3.5 years, which takes us into 2021. Plus they can just make up more, they have done so in the past. Plus they can stop releasing new investigators with deluxe expansions after that.

They have years of investigators left. I wouldn't worry about it.

Sometimes I think FF goes overboard with character options, but one for each class per expansions seems right to me. I think its ideal to have one of each class. I can't see them doing a lot more neutral classes.

Also, there's no guarantee they use all the investigators from the arkham files line. They did say that in an initial interview.

Still waiting for any of my favorites to be released. So far it's just a bunch I never play. =(

I don't think this is an issue. Even if we assume a finite number (which as mentioned above is already large) they aren't locked into 5 per forever. If the investigator pool really does become saturated, they can always continue to release new sets with fewer or even no investigators. Frontloading them doesn't do anything to harm the potential for more campaigns.

Which ones? I've no knowledge of them so I'm really interested to know

I'm curious how to use the actress I'd use her sure just her role switching is a bit odd... Also holy crap that Charge lady!!!

Also 'Story' cards?

This is a list of all the classic investigators

Some of my personal favorites are Dexter Drake, Diana Stanley, Harvey Walters, Kate Winthrop and Montery Jack. None of which have been released yet =(

My favorite investigator from Eldritch Horror is Lola Hayes, so I'll be very happy when Path to Carcosa is released!

If you really want to get to know all the investigators, they did recently release a big coffee table style book filled with mini stories about all 52 investigators in the Arkham Horror IP so far.
