I like it, but I don;t think the sideslip manoeuvre merits giving stress. It's not flipping the ship at all, it's functionally broadly equivalent to a straight and a barrel roll.

I was kind of equating it to the talon roll and s-loop maneuvers which are both typically red maneuvers. Especially since it has three options to choose from at the time of execution (turn, sweep or slide) which is pretty flexible.
Which is why it should be limited to the 1-turn.

Our sideslip ideas work off different mechanics. Yours is more like a barrel roll replacement, possibly an action or free action with a trigger, so using the 1 turn template makes sense. Mine is a maneuver and the X-Wing doesn't have a speed one turn on its dial. I guess it depends on how folks would want it to work.
I think the rules reference I wrote up could work for yours as well, it would just have to specify the 1 turn template and the upgrade card would have a different wording.

I'd definitely suggest it should be a manoeuvre. But there;s no reason you couldn't also put in an action that did something similar.
I'd say that a 1-turn sideslip would probably be too similar to a Barrel Roll to be worth the hassle though, personally.

Yeah, there's room for both. I do like the maneuver version since you could use it to swoop past an obstacle without having to turn.

How does this look for the 1 speed only/barrel roll version?
