Is there or will there ever be the option to buying upgrade card (like a deck of extras) outside of buying the expansions?

For example I'm not interested in flying Scum and Villainy factions but still want the upgrade cards.

We can't say for sure, but it looks unlikely that FFG will ever sell cards directly. There will always be a secondary market, though.

That's what I thought but I was hoping.

Actually, I believe FFG have explicitly stated before now that there would never be a card-only expansion. Now, I think that was a long time ago, and things change, but it seems so unlikely as to be functionally irrelevant.

YES. Just not from FFG.

Buying upgrades is where you look toward the secondary market and Ebay. I might also say that if you wait long enough many of the more universal upgrades will eventually show up on a ship "in your faction" if that is what your goal is; might be hard waiting that long however.

Still waiting for Autothrusters to be available in something other than the StarViper more than two years later.

I'm really hoping they troll the everloving heck out of everyone and include it in another expansion soon - Scum Veterans with the StarViper and Kihraxz...
