So coming up in Utah we have our campaign against cancer tournament. One of the things about this tournament is that you're supposed to fly a silly list. Something casual. It's also a great way to show off painted ships. Usually if you're a veteran player you try to fly something silly and let the newer players fly top-tier lists. So I have these painted ships I painted the hounds tooth to look like a pirate ship, and I painted the start viper To look like a squid monster. So I give you my list. Any thoughts or recommendations?

Here are some photos. What else are you gonna paint a ship that likes to drop anchor, broadside ships, depends on its crew, and even comes with an abandon ship escape boat. Throw in a kraken because the starviper looks like a squid and ta-da!

Yeah if only she had a higher PS and an evade. But like I said this is a really casual competition.

I've never flown Rebels so I am considering flying them. I predominately fly Scum and only recently started branching out to Imperial lists.

I just completed my collection actually. I have everything from all factions except a couple of the epic ships. I am working on a Dash/Miranda list. I have never flown either ship and am thinking about taking it to CAC.

Looking forward to CAC myself, haven't decided what I'm flying yet either.

The u wing just sits between rocks like a turret and blocker while the A's position for maximum snap shots as well as defense support against TLT, and Tarn acts as his own little mini tank where he is defensive on his own but also can throw some punches if your opponent ignores him. Play it and see.

I fly everything. I need to stop building lists and stick to something. I started with Tie swarms, enjoy the zurg of scum, and have been having a blast with the ghost and various rebel regen.

I want to spend some time on smaller swarms though, like T-70's or sf Zeta's.

I'm playing in the one in Iowa, and wasn't really aware of this. This is my first tournament, and I was going to fly a mindlink list with Asajj, Fenn, and Palob. Will I look like an ass? Should I fly something less competitive?

Your first tournement? No you're fine. Fly what ever you want. My community is looking at the really good players when we do this. I won our state cup and made semifinals at our regionals without loosing one ship all tournement. I will get booed if I show up with anything competitive but someone like my cousin who only went to one tournement and got last place can fly what ever he wants and people won't think less of him. It's like a gentlemans agreement here in Utah to fly casually at this tournement and do something janky. But newer players get a chance to test their skills, having a top tier list is only half the battle, you still need to fly it.

Think of it like this, experienced players know how to fly, so they undermine their own lists; newer players don't know how to fly well yet so they play a competitive list. This way everyone is almost on the same playing field.

So you should be fine. But to be honest I don't know if every campaign against cancer tournement is going to do this. This is kind of a Utah gentlemans agreement.

Wish me luck with this list tomorrow! I'm gonna try to do a battlereport with pictures and round summaries too.

So... I tried but after my first match I gave up on keeping information on the battle report it was ok though I had lots of fun. Decided 54 points on Bossk dies waaayyy too quick, and Guri without an evade action sucks. But again I had fun. Every single one of my matches was really close but I managed to go 4-2 so that's a plus. The guy that ended up winning though was using leia crew with a lothal rebel tactician dorsal turret, Biggs, and a stress hog. He won with leia!! Turns out she's good about getting your stress hog to turn around after the initial joust

Interesting. Will have to look at it, in case I come across that. The guy that won ours flew Ketsu (PTL, K4), Asajj ( PTL, K4), and Bandit.

That's pretty good too. It's tricky with the expectation to fly a janky list but also being able to win. It was fun to see what everyone was flying, but I think I won't invest more than 45 pts into bossk ever again. And probably not Guri until they find a way to make her much cheaper

I'm hopeful that after the C-Roc, the next expansion will be a Scum Aces release.

If a Scum Aces comes out, that could include a natural ps8/9 starviper, which could help a lot.
