  • Dr. Francis Morgan was kidnapped.
  • XP Earned: 4

Interlude I : Armitage's Fate

Armitage's Fate 2

  • Add D. Henry Armitage to deck.

Scenario II : The Miskatonic Museum

Resolution 2

  • The Investigators took custody of the Necronomicon.
  • I gave in to the temptation of power.
  • XP Earned: 3

Scenario III : The Essex County Express

Resolution 1

  • XP Earned: 2
  • Gained 1 mental trauma.

Duke's ability to move then investigate made this scenario fairly simple.

Spent 8 XP to upgrade cards (Lucky, Close Call)

Scenario IV : Blood on the Altar

Resolution 1

  • The investigators put Silas Bishop out of his misery.
  • Professor Warren Rice was sacrificed to Yog-Sothoth.
  • Dr Henry Armitage survived.
  • Dr. Francic Morgan survived.
  • Zebulon Whateley survived.
  • Earl Sawyer survived.
  • XP earned: 6

Once again Duke's move-investigate was handy, and his attack saved the day in the end. Agenda had just gotten to 1B at resolution.

Interlude II : The Survivors

  • Added Powder of Ibn Ghazi, Dr Francis Morgan, Zebulon Whateley, and Earl Sawyer to the deck.

Scenario V : Undimensioned and Unseen

Resolution 2 : I calmed the townsfolks; No brood escaped into the wild.

XP earned: 1

Evaded and sent one Brood back into the deck; transferred clues and managed to kill the other one but was pretty close on horror. Pete's high willpower is a big help using Esoteric Formula.

Scenario VI : Where Doom Awaits

Resolution 1: The investigators entered the gate.

XP earned: 4

Darn you -5 token! Really tough, with all the high shroud locations I had trouble making progress, an had to fight a couple tough opponents, then got stuck with both Silas and a Devotee on the Peak. Got a lucky draw to kill Silas, then evaded an Avian Thrall the next round to grab the last clue I needed to move on -- but was about 2 health and 1 horror from ending it all, and only three doom before the final Act advanced. The last Scenario is going to be pretty rough.

Scenario VII : Lost in Time & Space

Spend XP to upgrade before starting

Resolution 1: Campaign Won!

XP Earned 5 (plus some wicked trauma)

Ashcan's ability to move & investigate with Duke was key. Got lost a number of times, but eventually made it out. An easier scenario than I expected. I played a second time and had a bit harder time, but still beat it with the same resolution.

Edit: Drat, it put everything into one spoiler block. Oh well ...

Edited by Hawkstrike

Sounds fun! It would be nice to see people's thoughts and experiences of the whole campaign together in one place. Hopefully I manage to hide the spoilers correctly, I still haven't quite gotten used to the new forums yet. Edit: anyone know how to stop spoilers getting nested? /spoiler didn't seem to do what I expected it to.

Status immediately before Lost In Time and Space:

Investigators : Zoey Samaras, Daisy Walker

Total XP Spent: Zoey - 23, Daisy - 22

Trauma: Zoey - 1 Mental, Daisy - 1 Mental

Scenario 1A: Extracurricular Activity

Not too much to report on this one. Daisy hoovered up clues while Zoey demolished locked doors, arcane barriers and any monsters that attempted to get in the way. When the experiment showed up, Zoey weakened it with dynamite, triple attacked it with a machete (including pulling two elder signs out of the bag!) before it was brought down by her guard dog.

Resolution 3

  • Experiment defeated.
  • Prof. Rice kidnapped.
  • XP earned: 4 (Orne Library, Yithian Observer, The Experiment [2])

Scenario 1B: The House Always Wins

Started off well, getting the initial clues needed without cheating, but then got bogged down fighting both mobsters and a stubborn detective in the darkened hall. Having to advance straight through from agenda 1b to 2b and finding the VIP area last meant that there was no time to go back for Peter Clover but Daisy and Zoey, with Rite of Seeking, were able to clear the clues off all the final locations before fleeing down the back alley with their last actions on the final turn of the game.

Resolution 1

  • Angered the O'Bannion gang.
  • Prof. Morgan kidnapped.
  • Did not cheat.
  • XP earned: 3 (Art Gallery, VIP Area, Back Alley)

Interlude I: Armitage's Fate

Resolution 2 - Dr. Armitage, head librarian, was rescued and added to Daisy's deck for maximum... librarianness? Librarianity? Librarianitude.

Scenario 2: The Miskatonic Museum

Daisy attracted the attention of the security guard to gain entrance and proceeded to burn through the exhibits. Zoey equipped herself with her trusty machete and cross, meaning that even when the hunting horror put in an extra appearance due to Smite the Wicked it was no match for the righteous chef... although even her faith didn't stop her from being unnerved by the museum's nature exhibit (ephemeral exhibits + tentacle token)! An argument about the fate of the Necronomicon between Zoey ("the book is evil") and Daisy ("don't mess with my books") was won by Zoey ("you've already got a Necronomicon, and it's not even useful", "you're right, and mine might get jealous..."), resulting in a good old-fashioned book burning.

Resolution 1

  • Necronomicon destroyed.
  • Adam Lynch survived.
  • XP earned: 3 (Hall of the Dead, Medusa Exhibit, Restricted Hall)

Scenario 3: The Essex County Express

Apparently security at Arkham Station is pretty lax, as Zoey boarded the train carrying a shotgun. The investigators made quick progress through the first three cars, although Zoey's shotgun was Pushed into the Beyond leading to Daisy demonstrating that Mind over Matter is all that is required to deal with a Grappling Horror. A double Ancient Evils led to things getting rather hairy, with the investigators suddenly back at the rear of a much shorter train. Zoey's Scrying revealed more ancient evils ahead and the emergence of a monstrosity meant that she would have two shots from her reacquired shotgun to deal with it. A -4 and a skull (-4) left her with no choice but to hold the monster at bay while Daisy proceeded to the engine car. Almost falling off the train while seeing Zoey and the monster get pulled into the tear in the sky inflicted mental trauma on Daisy, while seeing the wicked acolyte go (temporarily!) unpunished in the engine car did the same for Zoey. The final turn left Daisy needing to successfully investigate three times to get the train moving again, her Arcane Studies telling her that only the direst of luck would see her fail. Finally, the train began to move... and not a moment too soon!

Resolution 1 and Zoey Defeated

  • Zoey thrown Across Space and Time.
  • Zoey 1 mental trauma (Smite the Wicked).
  • Daisy 1 mental trauma (almost fell off the train, Act 1b).
  • Dr. Armitage still safe.
  • XP earned: 2 (Parlour Car, Engine Car) Zoey +1 (Experience Beyond the Gate)

Scenario 4: Blood on the Altar and Interlude II: The Survivors

Daisy's Higher Education and Encyclopaedia made short work of discovering that there was nothing of value in Oswald's General Store, that the old Schoolhouse held a mysterious key and that The House in the Reeds contained a Hidden Chamber. Meanwhile Zoey arrived in Dunwich after her ordeal accompanied by a Guard Dog and carrying a Knife and her Cross and set about defending Daisy from Whippoorwills and Hunting Nightgaunts. Finding that there was a monstrosity beneath the house, Daisy proposed studying it while Zoey brought out her shotgun and advocated putting it out of its misery. Daisy won the debate and began tearing the chamber apart while Zoey brought out her shotgun and defended the door against angry mobsters and Stubborn Detectives. When Daisy was satisfied that she had seen all she needed to, Zoey stepped into the chamber guided by a mystic (divine?) power and found the texts to banish the monster.

Resolution 3

  • Silas Bishop banished.
  • Earl Sawyer sacrificed to Yog-Sothoth.
  • Dr. Henry Armitage, Prof. Warren Rice, Dr. Francis Morgan and Zebulon Whateley survived the Dunwich Legacy.
  • Powder of Ibn-Ghazi acquired.
  • XP earned: 4 (Hidden Chamber [2], scenario bonus [2])

Scenario 5: Undimensioned and Unseen

Having achieved the best outcome on the previous scenario, there were a potential 5 Brood of Yog-Sothoth available and two of them started in play. However, Daisy and Zoey were able to quickly make their way to the Whateley Ruins without encountering the beasts and Dr. Armitage was able to translate the Esoteric Formula. With Daisy acting as a distraction, Zoey was able to use the Powder of Ibn-Ghazi and the first Brood fell shortly after. From this point on, things took a turn for the worse, with two more Brood showing up, the original one mutating to become Towering, and and Altered Lupine Thrall showing up. By setting traps and borrowing some hounds, the investigators managed to destroy a second Brood while Zoey was also able to eventually take down the Thrall. With the remaining Brood of Yog-Sothoth closing in on Dunwich Village, Zoey and Daisy decided to take cover until the creatures had moved on.

Resolution 1

  • Calmed the townsfolk.
  • 3 Brood of Yog-Sothoth escaped into the wild.
  • Zoey gained Amnesia.
  • Daisy gained Paranoia.
  • XP earned: 2 (2x Brood of Yog-Sothoth)

Scenario 6: Where Doom Awaits

Daisy was able to quickly navigate the treacherous landscape around Sentinel Peak thanks to her Higher Education, begging the question of exactly what she studied at University (occult geography?). Meanwhile, the charismatic Zoey made short work of anything that crossed the investigators' path thanks to her Shotgun and the assistance of Dr. Morgan and a local member of the Dunwich Police Department, who appeared to take a dim view of the Stubborn Detective's attempt to take the chef into custody. Skirting their way around a Crazed Shoggoth, the team found Seth Bishop and his Wizard of Yog-Sothoth apprentice. Zoey proved that magic is no match for hot lead, killing the Wizard and wounding Seth, who was promptly taken into custody by the Beat Cop. With the gate now open, Daisy realised that only by entering the gate could the world be saved...

Resolution 1

  • Entered the gate.
  • XP earned: 4 (Sentinel Peak [2], Seth Bishop, Wizard of Yog-Sothoth)

Scenario 7: Lost in Time and Space

Daisy was quickly able to gather several clues with the aid of Dr. Milan, who had also wandered through the gate. However, try as they might, the investigators were unable to find a path to the Edge of the Universe. By the time Daisy found the way, Zoey had been afflicted by Beyond the Veil and was pinned down by a Conglomeration of Spheres and a Servant of the Lurker alongside her loyal Guard Dog. Despite carrying Extra Ammunition, she finally ran out of shells for her Shotgun only to be struck by Amnesia and forget where she'd left the Lightning Gun she spotted. Proving more agile than anyone suspected, she was twice able to evade the Lurker while the dog and spheres took each other out before remembering where she'd put that .45 Automatic and finishing off the Lurker. Daisy provided essential backup by calming Zoey down and giving her Clarity of Mind. Daisy made her way through a Tear Through Time, thinking that Zoey was just behind her. However, struck with a sudden urge to Smite the Wicked Interstellar Traveler, Zoey accidentally stepped into a Wormhole and was transported far away. With time running short Zoey was able to manipulate her foe onto the Tear Through Time, destroy it with her pistol and leap through the rift just as Yog-Sothoth itself showed up behind her. (At this point she had only three cards left in her deck - one of which was Stubborn Detective - and would have been defeated by Beyond the Veil.)

Resolution 1

  • CAMPAIGN WIN!
  • Zoey and Daisy 2 Physical Trauma and 2 Mental Trauma.
  • XP earned: 6 (Servant of the Lurker, scenario bonus [5])

Update: Campaign Complete!

Updating for Undimensioned and Unseen.

Updating for Blood on the Altar.

Updated for Where Doom Awaits.

Updated for Lost in Time and Space.

Campaign ended! Throughout the campaign, the ability to Move & investigate (via Duke) proved to be very, very helpful to Ashcan Pete -- action economy FTW!

After Where Doom Awaits, I was expecting a skull-crusher ... LiT&S turned out not to be so bad.

Completed the Dulwich legacy on standard with two players.

Jim Culver playing the investigator (Spells and dark pact)

Zoey Samara playing the shotgun toting lunatic with ammo boosts and doublers.

We got the good victory condition, both survived. WE had the most troubles on the essex county express due to bad luck.
