If they did a Rogue Squadron, it wouldn't live up to what people want. Remember it's going to be shown on the Disney cartoon channel and be considered for kids. If they did make it, it wouldn't be what fans want. There would be fewer actual deaths and such.

My guess is that they will start to make a cartoon in the new trilogy. They need to flesh out that area of the story. Now that Ep 8 plot is settled, they can find room for some new stories to take place.

Have you watched the Rebels? fewer actual deaths hah!

I have. I will say that I have not seen the 2 episode season finale yet, so don't spoil it. There have been a few bad guys that have died. There are the occasional "red shirt" Rebel that dies. There hasn't been any named Rebels that have died so far in the show. If there are some that die in the season finale, it still shows that they won't really put out enough death to make a Rogue Squadron level death of characters.

the only North American cartoon I remember that actually had deaths in the "main cast" was Exo Squad. **** that was a fan-frakin-tastic show!

The civil war proper has yet to begin, with the battle of scarif. Plenty of time for main character deaths after that for a rogue show.

I was CERTAIN I could name some in Avatar TLA but then I actually tried to think of one and couldn't.

Definitely a few gruesome ones in Korra though, a certain terrifying asphyxiation comes to mind. Rebels I guess is among a small minority in showing deaths on a kids' show.

I'd love to see a proper space sim for Star Wars. Growing up I loved games like wing commander, free space, x wing, etc... seems like it's been a while since someone made a real space sim game. Seems like the perfect media for a rogue squadron story.

So far, the only deaths have been a main villian and a bunch of no-names. Of course, the season finale that I haven't seen might rack that number up (don't tell), but it comes in at the end of Season 3. So far, there haven't been a lot of deaths. I wouldn't say Rebels has been a show with a lot of death in it.

I'm fully expecting half the main cast to bite the dust in this final series.

It's possible they might....as a season finale. Would Disney do it to main characters throughout the series, though? They would have to for a Rogue Squadron show.

I will assume Season 4 features the Rebel's stealing the X-wing's and liberating the Incom engineers then using them to destroy the Lothal Tie Defender base then end with the lead up to Rogue One, maybe with a post strike episode.

I'm betting the series finale is Rogue One's climax from their point of view (since you can see the Ghost in R1 during the battle), and "boy didn't you realize that they were only able to succeed in the movie because of the crew of the Ghost??" will be the takeaway from it.

Dave Filoni said they won't do that as the series finale. Not sure if he's just misdirecting us or if he's serious but that is the official statement.

what if the battle of scarif isn't ever featured?
