Hello, been away for a while, but getting back into gaming, especially Elder Sign. Can someone explain How Zoey's ability works.

Once per turn, when attempting an adventure with a monster, Zoey may change 1 die result to any other resullt before determining if she was able to complete the task.

It's the latter half, from "...before determining ..etc etc"... that confuses me.

It's similar to Mandy's wording, so, they did it for consistency I suppose. In any case it's a wording used to specify the time trigger of the action, which is resolved before placing results on requirements. So the sequence is

- you roll
- you decide which result (if any) to modify
- you place dice on requirements for the selected task

Yes, so basically, it's a freebie change dice once per turn if necessary, like the Leadership Skill card (once per day).
