What to spend my X-Wing's hard point on?

I'm still leaning towards the targeting computer.

If all you have is a single HP to use, then that's the best option for improving your odds of staying alive.

...yep, make the other guy dead and you'll live.

I've been thinking about these options too, Deslock and after careful consideration, I'd probably go with the Advanced Targeting Array, especially with a starting character with relatively little space combat talents.

Yeah. That's my suggestion.

I agree. This should be followed by buying an astromech that is a rigger....

It kind of is, my astromech is a PC rigger … and pc astromechs are really, really awesome.

Oh my dear, yes. Yes they are!

Droid Brains. You need droid brains (astromech, autopilot, gunnery) for your X-Wing. :)

And best off, they take no Hard Points! Just run'em up the noise so it looks like a Dalek Panel..."X-Terminate!"....8D

Be careful though. The autopilot and astrogation droid brains like to bicker. :)

...at least they're not talking bombs...

His name is Andy and he is my friend.

...I dun get that reference, but I'm old...lol

I was referencing and old and super-bad sci-fi movie, "Dark Star"

That sounds perfect for the intervention of a mechanic-come-pilot, don't you think? :)

Dark Star was a cult classic. Still a bad movie, though. The concept of a talking bomb was resurrected in an episode of Star Trek Voyager.

Oh it was a TERRIBLE movie...so bad it was hysterical...but the Neurotic, Talking, Planet-Destroying Bombs was the best part...8)

Eh i never got into Voyager, I prefer SW over ST by a long shot...last ST series I watched and liked was DS9.

Most people, especially people here, prefer SW to ST. Of course one occasionally runs into the odd person, such as someone who disliked B5. :P

...and we don't talk about those Tasteless Heathens...

Don't worry about it. Talking bombs has almost become a trope of its own.

In my case I was referencing Red vs Blue

Wait - super bad? That's it - I'm taking away my Like! That movie was awesome.

Super-bad in the best of ways...8D

Ahhhh, Super Bad in the seventies sort of way. Right on, brother! Right on. I can dig it.

You can have the Like back.

I say go the route that gives you two hp, get the legs, build a giant vitro sword or lightsaber, and go all gun damien on the enemy ties.

But the gunner brain can shoot prematurely, which sounds like a bigger issue. ;-)

You know, if I had a clue the direction she was heading, I'd be able to answer. But right now the ship is just Cool New Toy with a goal of "I Suck as a Pilot So Dont Die" - which means I'm still leaning towards the targeting computer.

With that in mind, I'd go for the ion turbine as a speed advantage helps with pilot checks in dogfights and, more importantly, lets you outrun pretty much anything short of an interceptor.

And there is valor in running away to fight (or run away again) another day.

Also, you save that spiffy souped-up X-Wing, which the Rebellion will probably appreciate, even after you are gone or retired. :)
