Hey all. I am rather new to star wars armada. I usually play with a friend who is is far more experienced than me, and we share ships (I only have the starter set). I really like what I have seen so far but I feel like I can't tell if I lose because of poor list making or due to our skill difference. I just want some input into whether these list look reasonable, I fear I may be over-upgrading my ships.
Cauldron of fire (398):
the idea here is to present forward and close with the enemy. The MC80 is deployed center-ish, with MC30c's deployed mid left or right in a staggered fashion. On the far outside is the GR-75. Fighters are deployed where needed to counter bombers. The MC80 provides fire as we close, then when in range the MC30c's present broadside cutting of one flank. With the MC30c's in position I present my opponent with the choice of turning into the arc of the MC30c's and their deadly deadly ordnance (while staying in arc of there own weapons), or turning out of range, but then exposing their back and flank, enabling a less effective return strike. My MC30c's are going to get shot at big time at least once, hence I have built in many systems to help them recover as fast as possible. I try to make sure that they MC30c's have at least on engineering token on turn 3 so that they can resolve and engineering command dial + token for maximum repairs if needed.
MC80 Battlecruiser 103
Doodnna 20
Liberty 3
Spinal Arm 9
XX-9 Turbo 5
Gunnery Team 7
Projection Experts 6
total: 153
MC30c Torp 63
ACM 7
Fire control team 2
Defense Liaison 3
total: 75
MC30c Torp 63
APT 5
Ordnance experts 4
Defense Liaison 3
total: 75
GR-75 18
Comms net 2
total: 20
Corran Horn 22
E wing 15
Tycho 16
A-wing x2 22
The slight variant of this list drops Projection Experts and Defense Liaisons and takes redundant shields on both MC30c's. It also drops Tycho and comms net for Toryn Farr on the GR-75
I am working on another variant with 5 activations. I think it will be better but more finicky to use. What do you think Hive mind?
Newbie rebel fleet lists
Side note: objectives are:
Precision Strike
Fleet Ambush
Superior Posistions
Ok ok ok.
I know... super weird to just fill your own thread with your random shouting into the void, but I think I have discovered a savage variant to this list.
Cauldron of Fire (397)
Precision Strike
Hyperspace Assault
Superior Positions
Nebulon B support refit (73):
Redemption, XX-9, Projection Experts, Leia
MC30c Torp (80):
ACM, Ord experts, Adv Projectors
MC30c Scout (84):
ATP, XX-9, Fire Control Team, Weapons Liaison
Pelta Command Class (86):
Max Shields, Doodnna
Corran Horn 22
Tycho 16
E-Wing 15
2 A-Wing 22
I found a way which present forward group can maintain nearly the same fire concentration while supplementing my fleet better. This enables me to focus my MC30c's on their true task: hurting things. Also am I crazy or does the ACM XX-9 combo enable me ,under the right conditions, to deal 3 face up damage cards?
Any thoughts on either list would be much appreciated.
Second list.
move Projection experts to the Pelta and Add Raymus so it can give 2 shields away then repair one and bank a repair token for next turn when you repair the other shield.
Redemption could the swap to Salvation for more Killy. FCT, liaisons and Lea can all save you points and I prefer Admonition to Projectors especially if XI7s are in the enemy fleet.
I will admit my fondness for this particular redemption build. It reveals engineering dial, then Leia ensures the injured ship also reveals engineering. Thus it transfers two shields, then recovers 1. Then when the damaged ship activates it gets 1 shield from shields to max and 4 engineering points (6 if I banked a token). So really strong recovery.
That said I may drop XX9 on the neb and go admo on one Mc30 and see what other defensive options are available with points.
Thanks for the insight.
