So what can we tell about the A-Wings in Episode VIII.

If you hate our idea of having a fun discussion about the potential future changes to the A-Wing in the universe and the game, then I don't really see the need to continue to participate in it other than to say you don't like our idea of fun.

and J.J. did not write the Script, General Leia will be in Episode 9 except it would be with stock footage of Late Carrier Fischer because family said no CGI except for that it won't and you think any of this really matters or relevant?

The fact is that trailers don't represent the final product. So trying to break down a bunch of scenes that don't legally have to be in the movie is pointless. Watch I expect General Leia is going to die in Episode 8, there is going to be a reshoot that kills her off because Disney couldn't get the permission to rogue 1 her in without paying the $$$$. So there you go the story has already been changed. And when stories are being adjusted on the fly, what point does a trailer full of Bullshot make?

"lol u ppl think A-Wings will b in movie" is not actually the stance of sensible skepticism.

Hah, your Star Wars-fu is strong, I had to Google what an RZ-5 is! I didn't know an A-Wing could get even stubbier, but them pictures make that thing look like a kid's toy.

Well one of the downsides of not having JJ on it. Otherwise it would be bigger, maybe even have the Y-wing engines.

And sometimes even that changes...

why george, why did Greedo shoot?

And have a secret weapon in the form of lense flare cannons.

And the railroading of the plot would be extreme as well.

I'm guessing the new a-wing is going to be lacking the missile slot, but make up for its two dice attack with tech and maybe system slot.

On the plus side if the episode 8 A-wing isn't all that different from the one in the game already they could use it as a way to give the old one new tricks. IT would be interesting to see if they go with the stripped down idea for the ship just making it very much a glass cannon.

Predicting it now, an A-wing with Slam.

The consensus seems that 2 attack is keeping the A-Wing out of play (and I believe other 2 attack ships in general).

My thought is they keep the model the same, come out with a Rebel Veterans pack that includes 2 titles that are kind of an anti-Chardaan Refit. The title would add a missile slot so you could run unguided missiles, but keep you from running Charadaan too and cutting points. If it was a 0 point title, you could run a green with crack, autothrusters ~2.5 attack. This would be a neat ship at 24 points allowing you to run an ace and another ship or run a swarm of them.

Judging by this picture there'll be missiles.

That would definitely signify misisles.

If the other TFA era ships are any indication, it will have +1 shield, a tech slot and a better dial (probably s-loops or t-rolls added).

They will either allow it to benefit from the old A-wing title or it will have it's own title to distinguish it from its predecessor. I'm personally hoping that they let it take the A-wing test pilot title. I like that the A-wing can do 2 EPT combos and it would be cool to have a slightly beefier option.

Given that one short story that led into the Bloodline novel, "A-Wing Test Pilot" may still be relevant in the ST era. I don't know if it's actually an honest-to-god new model, or just that different manufacturers kept making their own versions of the frame, so we'll see if it plays out. That'd be a Wave XII period announcement one way or the other. They could just go the HoTR route and a title to say, add the Tech Slot and give it something like +1 shields and then print resistance cards but we don't know if that's the appropriate direction - and really FFG might not get to pick.

Needless to say, I have been daydreaming of A-Wings. The only ship that can make me want to play Rebels now that my Empire collection is now done.

Time to buy 5 A-Wings and 4 Rebel Aces packs! And than 5 more if the ship gets released as a new pack.

I believe he is referring to the large hole in the side of the a wing.

So judging from the life-size model in the publicity shots of the prince's visit to the set, it looks like the resistance A-wing is pretty small. More in line with the original concept art, and more in line with the original ROTJ A-wing size before lucasfilm fudged it into the official size we have now (which is what FFG had to use for their model).

Could this be the first ship with 4 base green dice? That could make it pretty appealing even with 2 attack dice.

I thought prenerf Whisper was the first 4 green dice ship.

The reason there were a ton of unused material in the Rogue One trailers is that Gareth, uh. Would frequently just shoot scenes because they looked cool

To be fair, if you let me direct a Star Wars movie set in the correct timeline, I'd probably do the same thing.

Nah, it would be +1 shield with a pair of T-rolls replacing one of the K-turns and both the missile and tech upgrade slot for 2 more points than the A-wing (gold squadron veteran 19 points).

So what you would get is an A-wing that has 1 more shields, no missile slot (because chardaan refit will always be in it) and the A-wing test pilot so a tougher snap-juke A-wing with a better dial.

That's my guess.

If I make a claim, I can always back it up.

yeah, "how to film a star wars movie without george"

1: shoot two movies based on the same timeline

2: pick the better plot(?)

3: mash together scenes from both to fit the plot

4:????(reshoot anything that doesn't make sense)

5: profit with one of the best star wars films ever
