Red dice creep is already here to stay. I honestly think there will be a upgrade that's a wing only that is a middle that increases your attack by 1.
So what can we tell about the A-Wings in Episode VIII.

Would frequently just shoot scenes because they looked cool, without regard for how or if they could fit into the actual film he was making. Surprise: turns out when you film random stuff because it looks cool A: it doesn't fit but B: it looks cool , so the marketing people ask permission to use it in the promotional stuff. Why is this relevant? Because Gareth Edwards is not directing Episode VIII.
and J.J. did not write the Script, General Leia will be in Episode 9 except it would be with stock footage of Late Carrier Fischer because family said no CGI except for that it won't and you think any of this really matters or relevant?
The fact is that trailers don't represent the final product. So trying to break down a bunch of scenes that don't legally have to be in the movie is pointless. Watch I expect General Leia is going to die in Episode 8, there is going to be a reshoot that kills her off because Disney couldn't get the permission to rogue 1 her in without paying the $$$$. So there you go the story has already been changed. And when stories are being adjusted on the fly, what point does a trailer full of Bullshot make?

Then TIEs will need 3, then Interceptors and X-Wings will need 4 to make them cost worthy to the newly unlocked graded As and TIEs, then, then, then...
Even with red dice creep, I don't think that giving the A-Wings one more die (if done correctly, or slightly situational) will make people cry for another die on the standard TIE Fighter.
The Empire has access to things like General Hux and Howlrunner. I can't off the top of my head think of anything for Rebels that gives you either mass rerolls (Howlrunner), or a crew that gives out mass Focus and makes a hit unable to be cancelled by defense dice for one ship with a slight downside (General Hux).
I can't speak for everybody, but I know I wouldn't be upset at the change, if priced accordingly and has some slight negative (like only giving +1 red die at range 2-3)

Actually, I believe Kathleen Kennedy has stated that Leia (Carrie FISHER) won't be in Episode IX
Maybe A-wings could get something like the lightweight frame but for red dice.
It kinda looks like the Jedi Star Fighters from Episode 2 had sex with a Alliance A-Wing and that was its baby... a longer bulbus disgusting baby.... there is a reason why concept art ships stayed concept art and we got the much cooler looking ships in the OT.

That's what I said. It won't be in, which is why I also said that it is likely they are going to kill off General Leia in Episode 8.

If they end up being a scum ship, they will have a way to throw 4-6 red dice a turn, stress people and get auto evades.
Like the Kihraxz, Z95, Scyk and the Starviper.
If you look at the engines in the hangar shot and the cockpit in the greenroom you'll notice that the engines extend further behind the main hull on the new model, and the cockpit has been moved further back as well. As seen in previous posts, the wedge is narrower. Overall it's the same design, the differences are minor, and in another picture from the greenroom you can also see the missile slots as well, so we know those are still there. The differences game-wise that I can see is as previously mentioned the potential additional shield, the tech slot and the extra maneuver options. As for Refits and Test-Pilots I believe that they will be available but taken into account point-wise and pilot ability-wise.
End of speculations, TLJ A-Wing is just McQuarrie concept A-wing, they aren't even trying
(of course Rebels A-wing McQuarrie concept A-wing, let's have another laugh at the sheer stupidity of this situation:
:D)

Haha, so that is the secret to that advanced rebel tech! Empire must have wooden ships now!!!! We must fight back.

This is old news. Leia won't be in Ep. 9.

Obviously a 5 attack ship.
5 attack justified by no other ship being rated to take damage from space splinters.
But, I do find it funny that the "New" A-Wing is near exactly from the original concept art. Hey, here's to hoping that maybe we get an auxiliary firing arc with the Resistance A-Wing as well... hopefully with enough pilots to make an aces list with them.

T-70 was basically the concept X-wing as well. So what's the problem? The outside doesn't matter as much as what's under the hood anyway.

I never said it was a problem, just entertained by it.

We know that, I'm predicting that character will be killed off in Episode 8 just as Han died in Episode 7. Who knows maybe with Luke as well in Episode 9, forget it time to kill off the entire OT cast so that they won't be coming back. We will make even George R. R. Martin Cry!
- Bye bye Lando, at least you wern't the first one to go
- Get scraped C-3P0 and R2-D2. Hopefully by 0-0-0 and BT-2
- Chewie, this will save your from the humiliation of the Yuzzahn Vong series that the mouse might grab if times are that desperate
- Akbar, Mon Mothma, Doodana, Reiken, Madine. We barely knew you but considering how much we got to know Jar Jar Binks that is probably for the best.
- Lets never mention that last name ever again!
Man since the Disney take over, lucasfilm seems to be having a really hard time doing star wars designs without referencing or literally using mcquarie's discarded designs from the OT. Don't get me wrong, he did a lot of great work, but at some point someone needs to step up in the design department as his designs won't last forever. Rogue One ironically seemed to branch out the most on their own. The u-wing and tie striker while not the most amazing designs ever made, were both original at least.
I was really hoping for some new fighters designs in ep8, so far that doesn't seem to be the case.
I wouldn't mind a new core set that flips the factions by having two A-Wings and whatever TIE Advanced/fo ship Kylo Ren is rumored to be getting.

The reason so much of the trailers for Rogue One never ended up in the film is because Gareth Edwards likes to film lots of footage and do scenes many times. Its reasonable to think a trailer a year before a film comes out may not be entirely indicative of the final movie in that scenario.

So you got conformation, she is dead in episode 8 character as well as actor?

and this is why I hate fan theories. Nothing is set until the movie/book is published.
