Hey, all. I'm going to be running a game in the near future, and while I have experience with the non-Force professions, this time I have a player with a Force-using profession. I've been reading and re-reading Force & Destiny, and I'm still having difficulty nailing down how much Force powers cost. For example, Move costs 1 Force pip initially, but does it cost an additional pip for each Strength rank purchased - for a total of, say, 5 pips to move a Silhouette 4 item - or just one additional pip regardless of how many Strength ranks are purchased? Do the same guidelines apply for ranks in Magnitude and Control? I know the limitations regarding the Force pips limits the available points to power the Force abilities, but my player tends to be pretty creative about such things, so I just want to be prepared, and know exactly how much he might be able to spend.
Force Power Costs?
For upgrades that have ranks like Strength, Magnitude and Range it's usually 1 pip for a number of upgrades to the effect equal to ranks purchased.
You spend 1 pip to activate all upgrades of the same kind once. You can spend additional pips on other kinds of upgrades, or you can spend them on activating the same upgrades again.
So if you roll 3 pips, and have Strength upgrade x2 and Range upgrade x2, you could spend 1 pip on each upgrade to have a result of Strength x2 and Range x2 (with 1 pip spent on activating the basic power), or you could spend both pips beyond the first to activate one kind of upgrade twice to have Strength x4 or Range x4.
