*Grumble Grumble* Why aren't the rest of the expansions on the boat yet?

Why so many? Just plain old F5 refreshes it on most browsers. Or are you on a mac?

He probably DIOSd it. For me I rarely use my actual function keys so I switched them to do the laptop functions (volume up down mute, screen brightness etc) without pressing function. Which means now I have to full screen and refresh by pressing function.

On topic, is anyone kinda sad spearmen don't have advantage vs cavalry? Or is that somethig a future expansion will solve with poleaxe men

What @taylorcowbell said. My laptop has the function keys tied to multimedia functions.

It doesn't bother me so much. I don't really care if this game is realistic to historical medieval combat. I mostly care about interesting gameplay and cool lore.

I could imagine an infantry upgrade released in the future that gives infantry an advantage against cavalry units, though.

Yeah, I'm bummed that there wasn't a special action to set against a charge (in general, actually, though cavalry at the least since that'd be pretty powerful). It's the kind of thing that could be added later with an upgrade, but it would feel silly to do so without making it specific to certain units, since it's predicated on the type of weapon they bear. It would be absolutely ridiculous if Reanimates could set their axes and swords against a charge.

I feel like the most likely reason such a feature didn't make it in is that FFG likes to make their core sets show off most features, and you'd need a mirror match to have spearmen vs. cavalry right now.

Actually, I would argue they're not too bad against cavalry, and I think it's cool that they managed this without being super explicit with an 'anti-cavalry' ability. The fact that spearmen have such a flexible dial with attacks at multiple initiatives means that they are far better than most other units at dealing with an awkwardly timed charge.

For example:

If a group of Reanimates is charged by the initiative 5 march of the Oathsworn, then they're only real option would have been to Rally-4 with +1 armor. Spearmen, however, can Rally-3 with +1 armor which helps against lower initiative charges and they can also choose to use attack-7 +1 hit to counterattack the Oathsworn or whatever else may be attacking. The fact that the Reanimates only have a attack-4 makes them really bad at counterattacking a charge. Effectively, the only option they have much of the time is to rally and armor up where Spearmen can to the same (and sooner) while maintaining a viable counterattack option.

These situation can change drastically based on unit matchups and any future expansions, but currently I think Spearmen can take a charge better than their undead counterparts and most units in general for that matter. Oddly enough, the Oathsworn themselves have many of these same qualities that make them good at taking a charge. However, they are obviously best used as the ones charging when that's possible.

Well Armada's core set was released in March and wave 1 in May. So it could be awhile.

I'd guess it's more based on the game's overarching philosophy of encouraging bloodshed to speed up gameplay. A counterstrike could lead to turtling which seems antithetical to this game.

The Latari elves, faced with monstrosities such as Uthak, felt it best to destroy them before they could be created. So they did a preemptive strike and destroyed the announcement article!

I'm calling it, there will be a preview of Uthak today. Although I'm not a. If fan of obscene I think they are called, the rest of them sound cool

I hope they do a late Friday Uthuk update, as other than Mondays that's when the Runewars articles seem to appear. I really can't wait to see how the Uthuk play, I'm sure they'll have some sort of blood token for their new mechanic.
